At stared out the window of her room, looking at the comotion outside the palace. She sighed as some women with green and pink featherd hair was argueing with the guards. Kat had been confined to the castle grounds for some time now, and was dieing to get out and explore the snowy Baroque. But alas she was orderd by decree of the countess not go out of the castle grounds under rule of susoisouse treason. Even though she was on good terms with the count, evertime he went away on buessness, she was orderd not to leave the castle by the Coutess. Kat shifted feet bordly, as she watched the women stomp off twords town in a mad huff. Kat prolonged anouther sigh as she watched the snow fall. Two guards were posted outside of her room, and were ever she went, one was two steps behind here, watching here every move.
She hated it.
Being confined in this small space, being watched veerywear she went. She felt like some one had shoved her in a small box, and threw away the key. Once out of desperation she had tried to escape, but was cought emmiditly, and was confined to her room until the Count returned. So now she sat on her belcony, watching the people walk by the front of the castle. They wishing they could be inside it, her wishing to be out. Kat, feeling sadded by the view, slowly walked inside, and closed the french doors behind her. She silently sat down on her bed and closed her eyes, wishing and dreaming of exploring Baroque. With these sad yet woundure thoughts she drifted off to sleep.

Kat awoke with a start, as she heard the latch click on her belcony doors. She slowly crept out of her bed, and slowly made her way twords the french doors. She crouched beside one of them, and held her breath as one slid open, and a dark blue figure crept in. Swift as a panther, kat swong her leg around and tripped the person. It went crashing down in silence, and Kat landed ontop of it. " Who are?? How did you get here?!?!" Kat hissed quitly, trying not arouse the suspisoun of the gaurds just outside her room. The figue pinned under Kat had on a deep blue ninja mask so only her chocolate brown eyes could bee seen. " Are you Kat McB?" the voice was female. "Who wants to know?" KAt asked, not moving off her. " My name is Yumi Sonada, and if your Kat McB as i'm told, than I am here to kiddnap you." Yumi said, narrowing her eyes to slits. " Why?? Who do you work for?" Kat asked, being cosousis not leave herself open to a counter attak from this Yumi. " Who is not important. Why is that my master believes you to be wrongfully convicted of this treson, and wishs you be free of it." Kat pounderd this statment. " Where would you take me?" She asked, woundering is it were possible to ecape her locked box with Yumi. " You would travel with me in secrecy to Agogo Forest, once there we wound asume fake idenaties, and procide to our base of opperations in Retodante." Yumi explained. " You tell me everything so openly, how do I know that I can trust you." Kat asked, thinking that she might just go with Yumi, and start a new life in Redodante. " You don't. trust I can only leave up to you. But this might be your only time that you could escape." Yumis brown eyes narrowed again in serousnues. " Its now our never." KAt thought for a moment on her words, before making a desistion. Kat slowly slid off Yumi, and held out a hand. " Alright, I'll go with you." Yumi nodded, and excepted the hand. " So how do we get out??" KAt asked, as she watched Yumi reach into her small cloth sack that was tied to her waiste. " Her put these on. We'll sneak out threw your belcony, and from there we'll emiditly head to Agogo Forest from the mountains." Kat nodded, as she begain to slip on the dark blue body suit. " Leave your cloths behide, there of no use to you now." Yumi said, looking out the french doors. " Pack light if you have to at all, we need to travel fast." She said, as Kat desgaurded her cloths in her unlit fireplace. " Everything here isn't mine anyhow." Kat wispered. " alright, lets go." Kat said, tieing the mask around her mouth. " Here, I heard that this was once yours." Yumi said, reviling a red dragon blade. " how...-" KAts prised sword had been stolen years ago by the Countess, and locked away somewere. " The foolish Countess had it desplayed in the Baroque musuem." Yumi explaned eyed sparkaling with happyness. Kat griped the fimilar blade with gental love. " ... ... .. Thank you...." Kat said, brethless to finaly have her back in her posession. " no need. You coming is thanks enough." Yumi said. " ready?" Kat took one last look at her hand craftedblade, before putting it away and nodding. " Yea. Now or never." The ninja across from her nodded. " Follow my lead, and make no noise." An with that the pair sliped out into the night, the midnight air calling Kats name.
Kat felt the long fergotten thrill of scalling the Baroque castle walls, and the feel of the fresh air. She skillfuly fallowed the faint figure staying out of the Pale moons rays. She smiled as she slipped past one of her guards that had cought her last time, and tried not to giggle as she jumped from window ledge to ledge. KAt silently followed yumi as thew crossed Kats contanment barrier, and dissapeard into the cold shadowy forest that borderd the Baroque Castle. Not to long after that did Yumi stop. " Right about now your personal guards should be cheking if your still there, correct??" Yumi asked, slowing down to a stop. Kat nodded, looking at Yumi with almost a greatful look. " Than we must travel fast." She said, bushing aside some snow from under a tree. " Here, I presume you know how to use one of these??" Yumi asked, as she handed Kat a white snowboard. " Do I ever." Kat answerd as she smiled at the thought of doing something she haden't done in two years. " Good. Than lets go before they sound an alarm." And with the words spoken, Yumi toke off with KAt close on her heels. Together they speed far from the quite snowy city, and closer to Kats freedom.
" Stick close Kat!! Once we reach Agogo forset we'll be safe!! 'Till than we must hurry!!" Yummi called out as Kat closed her eyes and felt the winf blow threw her long hair. " Right!!!" Kat yelled back, drawing in a breath of pure fresh air. Kat could taste freedom, she could feel it, and she breathed it in.
She loved every bit of it.
This is what she longed for, and what she missed. The Countess had stolen' it all away from here, and locked her away. Now she was free, and no one could catch her, nor lock her away again. This is what Kat dreamed of every night for two years.
Freedom absalute.

" I think its safe to rest." Yumi said, as they neared the middle of Agogo forest. They had ditched the snowbords as soon as the snow melted, and had walked non stop till now. And now the sun was just rising. Yumi stopped, and sat down under some trees, not to far off from the main path. " Hey Yumi." Kat said, tearing off her mask. " Yea?" Yumi begain to unpack things from a pack pack that she had picked up with the snow boards. " Thanks." Kat said, pulling her gloves off in the heat. Don't mention it." She said, also pulling off her mask. She shock out her pink and green hair, for a moment, before digging in her backpack. " Hey, you were at the castle trying to get before you 'kidnapped' me." Katt said, shaking out her hair too. " I was asking to see you. No point in going threw all the truble scalling walls to get to you if I coul djust walk in." Yumi said, reviling a bundal of some cloths. " Here, put these on, you look rediquless walking threw here with that suit on." Kat nodded, be fore disapearing behind some bushes to change. " So from here we just wallk right into Retodante and into your hide out?" Kat asked tossing the ninja suit at Yumi. " Thats the plan. But irst we'll spend that night at a hotel to get a good meal and sleep." Yumi said, changing as well. Kat stepp out from behind the thick green bushes dressed in black converse, red socks, a light green sun dress, and a white floppy hat. Her red hair was lose under the lightgreen bowed hat. " You look good." Yumi said, standing up to stread out a yellow chekered picanic blanket. Yumi whore a red t-shirt, and black pants, and a red hat. Her shoes were red pumas, and oddly enough, her hair was now orange and dark pink highlighted. (Full Metal > Backgrounds > Ed moderate _p) " What happened to your hair??." Kat said, streching out her sore limbs. " Here, have somthing to eat. " Yumi said. " I were a wig when I do any dangerouse missions in case i'm seen. " Kat nodded, and sat down across from Yumi and was handed a piece of fresh bread, and some mango slices. " Its not much, but it works. " Yumi said with a smile, handing some more .bluberries, and a liitle dried jerky. " Plenty enought for me." Kat said, happaly chewing on the jerky. Yumi grabed some mango slices and chewed on them as she pourded some cold water for the both of them. " After this we'll contuinue to Retodante and book a room at a hotel. Once there we can eat a proper meal." Kat nooded with glee as she let her stomuch take over. She ate almost all the bread, five slices of beef jerky, and plenty of bluebarries, rassberries, and cold cheiken before she was full. Flopping back onto her back, she gazed at the white clouds. Taking in a deep breath she smiled at the veiw. She was well away from the clutches of the Countess, and was fianly granted her deepest wish.
Freedom.
Kat sat up and strenhed out again, her hat and hair flaping in the light wind. " It;s good to be in the sunshine again!!" Kat said. " How long have you been imprisend there??" Yumi asked, gulping down some water. " Two and a half years since yesterday." Kat said lisaning to a bird chirp. " Two and a half!" Yumi repeated, sounding surprised. " Yep. Two and a half years of living hell. God it;s good to be out!!!" Kat yelled. " Wow... .. " Yumi said, putting away the food. " I never want to go back Yumi." Kat said, streching out her hands in the sun. " You'll be safe where we'll take you." Yumi explaned. " Its far from Baroque, and far from the Countess cluches." " good." Kat said, nodding to herself. " Well, lets go Yumi." Kat said jumping up. " Right."
