....But I didn't have the camera. So I'm posting it today. Sorry it's late MissDarkAngel! I don't know if this helps really, but I hope it does. Okay....here goes. I decided to use Rob Pattinson's eye as an example for the blending with pencil part. As you can see, the top one is unblended (you can see the swirls!), and the bottom is blended (looks alot better huh?^^) As for the colored pencil part....I used Ariel from The Little Mermaid-Ariel's Beginning DVD cover. After 10 years of drawing animated characters, I STILL can't draw Disney characters to save my life, so I really rushed through Ariel's part of this. That's why she looks like crap on here -_-; ANYWAY, I didn't have all of the right colors (as usual), so I improvised.....horribly. Her hair didn't blend as well as I thought it would (probably all of the erasing I did), but her eyes are a perfect example of the way I 'fade out'. Using the same blue the whole time, I started dark and then faded to a lighter stroke. You can see the colors I used on her (peach for the skin also blended with black for shading, cherry red and black for her hair, sky blue for the rim of her eyes, and royal blue for her eye color.)

That's right....Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight series, and The Host is NOT finishing Midnight Sun.....recently, the first 12 chapters were leaked, and it has truly broken her heart. I'm really upset that it has lead to her ceasing the completion of Midnight Sun....she's given the link to the first 12 chapters on her site, but I refuse to read them at the moment. I truly believe (after she's had some peace of course....you know, with the movie coming out, directing that music video, her events, she really needs to BREATHE!) that Edward and Bella will come into her dreams once again, and insist that she finish Midnight Sun and publish it; so that Edward's story can FINALLY be told. How can she refuse the characters that she loves with all of her heart? I think that she WILL finish MS, and publish it. But that's just my opinion....She says she knows who did it, but I doubt she'll tell us anything other than that. As some of you may have heard, my partial draft of Midnight Sun was illegally posted on the Internet and has since been virally distributed without my knowledge or permission or the knowledge or permission of my publisher.
I have a good idea of how the leak happened as there were very few copies of Midnight Sun that left my possession and each was unique. Due to little changes I made to the manuscript at different times, I can tell when each left my possession and to whom it was given. The manuscript that was illegally distributed on the Internet was given to trusted individuals for a good purpose. I have no comment beyond that as I believe that there was no malicious intent with the initial distribution.
I did not want my readers to experience Midnight Sun before it was completed, edited and published. I think it is important for everybody to understand that what happened was a huge violation of my rights as an author, not to mention me as a human being. As the author of the Twilight Saga, I control the copyright and it is up to the owner of the copyright to decide when the books should be made public; this is the same for musicians and filmmakers. Just because someone buys a book or movie or song, or gets a download off the Internet, doesn't mean that they own the right to reproduce and distribute it. Unfortunately, with the Internet, it is easy for people to obtain and share items that do not legally belong to them. No matter how this is done, it is still dishonest. This has been a very upsetting experience for me, but I hope it will at least leave my fans with a better understanding of copyright and the importance of artistic control.
So where does this leave Midnight Sun? My first feeling was that there was no way to continue. Writing isn't like math; in math, two plus two always equals four no matter what your mood is like. With writing, the way you feel changes everything. If I tried to write Midnight Sun now, in my current frame of mind, James would probably win and all the Cullens would die, which wouldn't dovetail too well with the original story. In any case, I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on Midnight Sun, and so it is on hold indefinitely.
I'd rather my fans not read this version of Midnight Sun. It was only an incomplete draft; the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes. But how do I comment on this violation without driving more people to look for the illegal posting? It has taken me a while to decide how and if I could respond. But to end the confusion, I've decided to make the draft available here (at the end of this post). This way, my readers don't have to feel they have to make a sacrifice to stay honest. I hope this fragment gives you further insight into Edward's head and adds a new dimension to the Twilight story. That's what inspired me to write it in the first place.
I do want to take a moment and thank the wonderful fans who have been so supportive of me over the past three years. I cannot begin to tell you how much each of you means to me. I only hope this note will stop all the confusion and online speculation so that the Twilight universe can once again become the happy escape it used to be. After this incredibly busy year, I am now focusing on spending more time with my family and working on some other writing projects.
Hehe, YUS. I love bagels. They are delicious! Especially with the creamy cheesy cheesy creamy! Okay, It's 8:30 in the morning, and after being up all night and listening to 'Shut Up and (Sleep With Me)' by Sin with Sebastian (its a funny song, what can I say?), I'm ready to post the R-Pattz WIP! This'll also be in WHY SO SERIOUS, and the art area. So basically, you're all set! So....tell me what you think! I think I made his face too long, and his nose maybe a little too big. And I think the eye on the left is a little weird looking....but, that's kind of how it is in the picture. I'm not done with all of the shading, so you don't really have to worry about that. But if you can find anything else wrong, tell meh.

And since it's exactly....11:20 right now, I didn't want to post it because NO ONE would see it. I'm just putting this up here for the peoples who are actually on at this time of night. But if you happen to see this tomorrow before I post the WIP....YOU'RE AMAZING! This is really just a head's up because I know I said I'd post it today, and then I didn't. I'm sorry! I hate being sleep deprived. Damn senior year....it SUCKS.
