The lighting surged. With every crack of thunder, the condition got worse.
The sky was dark and the air was dry and hot. Perfect conditions for.. never mind. What was I thinking? I was only fifteen. How could I possibly imagine that.. he was causing another one. It had been years since the last... storm. Darkai was constantly messing with my town, Twinleaf. Ever since my grandmother was twenty, Darkrai had come on the nights with no moon, or new moon. He would come and haunt citizens with the eternal nightmare, which was only cured by the lunar charm.
I was just walking riding home (on my bike of course) from Twinleaf Town Hall. It was the weekend of the town's hundred year anniversary. It was also the weekend of the century long haunting of Darkrai. My grandmother had moved here one hundred years ago, and married the founder of the town, Isaac Twinleaf. They were only fifteen when were married. Soon the town started to really grow. The twon was thriving with people, all within 5 years of the making. Then Darkrai came. The people started getting the eternal nightmare, until my best friend, Sarah, and boyfriend,Noah's grandfather came up with a cure. The Lunar charm. After Mr. Boesche came up with the charm to help my grandparents town prosper, the two family's became very close. My mother was the youngest of three, and so was Noah's father. They were good friends, but my mother didn't ever fall in love, and neither did Noah's father, Isaiah. Then the storm happened. Horrible, but nothing compared to what was going to happen now.
Any way, I was coming home with Noah, my fair green eyed beau. He affectionately nudged my shoulder, now that I was guiding my bike as we strolled along. He put his arm around my shoulder as we rushed into my house. We lived right next door to each other, so my house was his second home. The same with his house to me.
As he opened the door for me, I saw darkness. Power outage. when I first saw the predicament I figured it was natural storm problems. Then I realized. It wasn't raining. That usually caused an outage. I check inside and Noah followed me. I saw that there was no light and I went outside. Noah went to check on his own family, and I went to check on all the other town people.
Then I saw him. A manaphy. He was bleeding from a wound caused by a large rock. I got out a potion and healed it up. I gave him a few berries, and went on my way. But he followed me.
"Whats wrong?" I asked suggestively.
He chirped and gave me a look that meant to me that I should allow him to go with me. I put him up on my shoulder and continued on.
Everyone was okay, so I headed to Noah's house. Before I could get there, Noah met me along with a Phione. A green Phione. How peculiar, but that wasnt the problem of the moment, we still had the storm to worry about.
"I don't know how to say this," Noah said solemnly, " Sarah... has the... eternal.. nightmare."
"Oh my goodnes!" I cried. I ran to Noah's house, and Noah was not far behind. I ran to my best friends room, and saw her lying deathly still on her bed. I remembered the times where we had stayed up late talking about her boyfriend Spencer and my crush on her twin brother, Noah, now my boyfriend. Tears came to my eyes as I heard Sarah faintly mumble
"No! Don't take her... Noah take care of her... take care of... Polyester..."
