Boston Signs Extension With Pritchard

Boston agreed to an extension contract with Payton Pritchard (guard, 185cm, 88kg) on the 9th .

Boston decided to give Pritchard a four-year, $30 million contract. It is a contract that is fully guaranteed without separate options or unguaranteed conditions. This contract will be applied from the 2024-2025 season.

Pritchard has not been consistently employed in Boston. In particular, the average playing time decreased a little more last season. Because Marcus Smart (Memphis), Malcolm Brockdon (Portland) and Derek White were sitting together in Boston. There was no room for Pritchard to squeeze in, as he had a lot of power in the backcourt.

But Boston cleared its existing guards this summer by bringing in Kristaps Porzingis and Zuru Halladay. In other words, Pritchard's role is bound to grow. Boston also signed an extension contract with him, whose rookie contract expires at the end of the upcoming 2023-2024 season. $7.5 million a year may seem like a somewhat larger contract compared to Pritchard's performance, but considering the increase in salary cap, it is considered an appropriate contract. 토토사이트

He played 48 games last season. He played 13.4 minutes per game and recorded 5.6 points (.412.364.750) 1.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists. Compared to his 7.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists in the 2020-2021 season when he was a rookie, his records have fallen little by little every year. However, it is expected to secure more playing time from this season.

Boston also needs Pritchard. Boston is expected to set up a starting back court this season with Halladay and Jaylen Brown. White and Pritchard support them. While White is a defender, Pritchard is the only authentic point guard in Boston. As Halladay is not a specialized player in operations, he can sometimes play with him or support him. Boston needs him, of course.

He entered the NBA through the last 2020 draft. He was called by Boston in the 26th place in the first round. Prior to entering the big leagues, he spent four seasons with the NCAA Oregon Ducks. He was selected in the first round even though he entered the NBA after finishing college. He improved every year in college, and he was responsible for 20.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists in an average of 36.6 minutes in 31 games in the 2019-2020 season when he was a senior.
