Hello all participants!
Just to let you know, all the Secret Santa matchups have been emailed out. Those who are a part of this event can check their inboxes and start drawing for the one they have been matched with!
Several participants didn't have a ready wishlist and us hosts decided not to kick them out for it... we were super nice this year. But if you were matched with one of those list-less people, don't hesitate to contact us for ideas if things get you stumped.
Remember the post dates are any time between December 20-30th. If you have to post sooner or later, please contact ItachiSasuke or MangaKid first. Also remember to dedicate your drawing to the receiver so they can get a notification that you posted it! It would also be nice to see "Secret Santa 2014" in the tags so we can find it too!

Just a friendly reminder to you all that this Secret Santa event's cut-off date is November 30th, so no more new participants will be accepted after that date!!!
And to those who are participating but have not linked or PMed us a wishlist yet, we need your wishlist by December 3rd!! If we do not get your wishlist, we will PM you and expect to receive a reply asap. If we do not hear back from you, we will have to unfortunately exclude you from the event because we will be matching Secret Santas between December 5-8 and giving you the name of the person you are drawing for with their wishlist. So make sure to get your wishlist done!! :D

NOVEMBER 30: Last day for Otakus to join this event! After the 30th, we will be taking no new participants. If a new participant is added late, it will only under certain circumstances. If you have to drop out, please let us know asap so we can get a sub to take your place!
DECEMBER 3: Wishlists must be posted by this date. If you do not have your wishlist ready, posted, and linked to us by the 3rd, then we will be PMing you. If the wishlist is still not posted after that, we'll sadly have to exclude you from this event.
DECEMBER 5-8: You will get a PM with the name of your SS aka who you will be drawing for, and also a link to their wishlist. Do not tell anyone who your SS is under no circumstance, especially your SS! Its supposed to be a surprise for everyone. If you have questions or concerns, PM one of the event hosts who will contact your SS if needed :)
DECEMBER 20—30: Post your gift for your SS, making sure to dedicate it to them! (though we prefer if it was sometime between DECEMBER 23-25). Anyone who knows that they will be late in posting their gift will have to contact one of the events hosts asap.

Thankyou for taking the time to read this post!
We'd like to address an issue: the importance of making your fan art gift original for this event.
What we mean is that we'd like to see you do your best and put forth a good effort without having to over-use a reference picture.
Don't freak out! Of course, it is totally fine to use images for reference :) Its an natural thing for artists to use ref images to help them get the right idea. If you need to get an idea for a pose or get details on characters you don't know, or even do a portrait of an OC or real person, of course you will need to use reference pictures. But personalize it as much as you can with your own style/ideas/colour. And remember to give credit to the original image(s), by linking the original reffed scan(s) in the description of your art gift.
Just please try not to redraw the exact same image from a scan. OR trace a scan or base, change a few things, and then take credit for the lineart. We'd like to see you all get creative and original! The person you'll be drawing for will probably also love seeing your own style and effort instead of getting a redrawn scan.
Tracing also will not be accepted.
So to recap, we do not want to see any traced art, screenshots or scans included in the art, tracing of bases, or stolen art. It would be disappointing for someone to receive a drawing like this and even worse if it was to be removed from this website.
And remember, the importance of this SS event is not to show off art skills, but to improve on a personal level, do your best for the person you're drawing for, and bring the season of Christmas alive! :D
