Kira stood on the corner of the street. She watched the traffic light change colors, the pedestrians walking this way and that. The sound of the pedestrian’s final warning began to chime as she sighed and looked at her watch. “You’re late Lily…” She mumbled to herself. Not like anyone would care to listen to her anyway. They were all too busy in their own world. They didn’t care about some random girl. Well, correction. Not ALL of them cared. Three thugs saw her, smirked, and made their way over. Rolling her eyes, Kira met their expressions with a deadly glare. “You bums better forget about it and keep walking.” She warned when they came close enough to hear her.
“Listen to the chick talk tough.” the apparent leader stated with a sadistic grin. “Don’t you know there’s a toll on this road for girls like you? Pay up.” He said with his hand out.
“If you can’t pay with cash, I have another idea.” The one on the right grinned, Kira didn’t even want to KNOW what he was thinking.
“Humph…like I said, get lost.” Kira spoke defiantly. “It would be pretty embarrassing to have to kick your asses out here in front of all these people, now wouldn’t it?”
“You Little BITCH!” the one on the left lost it, he threw his hand forward and Kira glared at him, getting ready to flip him…but there was no need. In that instant they all three were nailed. Lilynette came flying in with a Dynamic Entry that would make Guy-Sensei weep, nailing them in the heads and like a domino effect, making them flail onto the sidewalk in a small pileup. She landed perfectly and clapping her hands together she sneered down at the bullies.
“And THAT’S what you get for messing with my friend KIRA!” She shouted at the unconscious men.
Kira couldn’t hold back her laughter, she was doubled over as she cracked up. Only THEN did people notice her, but she really didn’t care. “Lilynette, you’re hilarious.” She managed, then controlled her laughing. “And you’re also late…” She gave her a serious look.
The once beaming girl smiled nervously and put her hand behind her head. “Well…you see….I was…” She stumbled, and Kira laughed and hugged her, making her fall silent.
“Don’t worry about it Lily-chan.” She smiled. “I’m just glad you showed when you did, my little hero.” She Joked. “So where to first?”
“Hmm, well I was told to bring Starrk back some more of those snacks he got before.” Lilynette spoke, deep in thought. “But I wanna see more of the city too!!”
Kira laughed. “Let’s stick to the agenda, then see the city as we go. What kind of snacks?”
“Well, the chocolate is a MU-”
“No!” Kira interjected quickly. “…Starrk-sama really doesn’t need chocolate.” She sweat dropped as Lily gave her a curious look, that turned to sadness…then to begging. “….” Kira looked away, then back at her. She sighed. “Well…if he HAS to have chocolate, it has to be very sweet. Chocolate is bad for…um…animals.”
Before she could question her further, Kira led her off. They stopped at a mini-mart, containing pretty much anything they needed. They bought chips and taffys and pocky and tons of bizarre snack foods Lily had insisted on buying. Stepping outside the store, Kira tipped over her wallet, watching as nothing came out. “Oh how my wallet weeps…” She said dramatically. Lily laughed, running around Kira in circles…completely carefree.
Looking at the time, Kira glanced up at the horizon. It was nearly sunset. “Hey Lily-chan…wanna stop at the park before you head home? You have to be off by nightfall, right?”
Lilynette nodded. “That’s sounds great Kira-chan!” She exclaimed and pushed Kira forward.
Kira laughed as the bag flung from side to side. “I can walk on my own Lilynette!” She called out, then bust into a slight run. “Race ya!”
Two words she should’ve never said…Lilynette vanished. Hanging her head, she shook it back and forth. By the time she reached the park, Lilynette was in full swing…she’d probably already hit every amusement available…Kira huffed, setting the bags on the bench and taking a seat next to them.
“Kira-chan! Swing with me!!” Lilynette called out. Kira smirked and stood up. It was her idea…how could she turn her down? Walking over, she sat on the swing next to Lily’s and rocked back and forth. “This is great. I love getting out of Las Noches for Starrk’s errands.” Lilynette confided.
Kira giggled. “Well, I’m sure a little break would be nice no matter what you’re doing.”
The sun set as they passed their time talking about Starrk, giggling at all the mischief Lily caused him, but soon enough the sun was completely down and the stars began to twinkle in the sky.
Lilynette jumped off the swings and posed for Kira with a goofy grin. “Thanks a lot Kira-chan, I appreciate you showing me around.”
“Anytime Lily-chan.” Kira smiled gently. “I’m just sorry I couldn’t show you more…since you only came for supplies.”
Lilynette laughed. “DEAL!” She shouted suddenly, grabbing the bags.
“Wh…What?” Kira stuttered. “What deal?”
Lilynette opened a garguanta. “You show me more of the city next time I come. I wanna see the WHOLE THING!!” Lilynette exclaimed, stepping in, it started to close slowly.
“B-but!” Kira started.
“It’s a promise!!” Lilynette’s voice echoed, and then she was gone.
Kira sighed and hung her head once more. “That girl…” She laughed. “Oh well…I hope Starrk-sama likes the snacks.” She smiled and headed home. At least her day hadn’t been boring.
