Today, The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision has revealed that Warner Bros. is currently working on trying to get from Shueisha, the permission to do a U.S. movie adaptation of "Bleach", with Peter Segal director of the 2000s comedy "Get Smart") hoping to sign on produce as he plans to do dark-themed action movies for his movie portfolio.

My thoughts: Warner Bros. should aim to distinct this movie from the Manga by focusing on new heroes and villains while maintaining the soul reaper concept. Think of it being like "Gundam SEED" starting a new "Gundam" continuity without using characters from original "Gundam". That way, the movie can sell to a more mainstream audience (incl. non-Anime viewers) in North America while sticking to the soul reaper concept itself. Plus, it should try aiming for an R-rating.
