Hollywood Reporter has announced today that film director George Lucas is planning to have all 6 theatrical live-action "Star Wars" movies re-released in a 3D theatrical effect. The whole re-releasing will start in 2012 and the plan is for the movies to re-appear in theaters in continuity order, therefore "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" (1999) will be the first of the 6 to get the 3D conversion.
If you want my opinion, I don't think the "Star Wars" films need this treatment in order to satisfy newer moviegoers becasue c'mon, they're already perfect enough as they are now and the theatrical live-action "Star Wars" films produced before "Episode I" already got re-edited and remastered with new SFX in the late 1990s. What do you think?
