Two months ago, I posted up some some news about the planned "Battlestar Galaactica: Blood & Chrome". Now, here's an update I found from TV Squad today.
Mark Stern, executive vice president of original programming for U.S. network SyFy, liked the script "Battlestar Galactica" co-executive producer Michael Taylor wrote for the proposed "Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome" so much that a change of plans have been made by SyFy and Universal Studios: instead of it being an online series, it will be a made-for-Television two-hour movie serving as a backdoor pilot for a potentional T.V. series. Stern also mentioned that production will start in Vancouver, Canada sometime in early 2011 with a possible release to occur sometime in the 4th quarter of the same year.
As for story details, while "Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome" will still focus on William Adama duriung the first Cylon War, the time setting of the story will be about 20 years after the events of the currently running T.V. series "Caprica" and 20 years before the events in the 2000s BSG series. Plus, the T.V. film will involve the Colonial battlestar Galactica on its first mission.
