Last year, I wrote a post on this website about my "Anime Icons 2"/"Anime Icons 3" plan for the upcoming 2012 and 2013 Otakuthon events. However, I am now making a change of plans. For, not only am I dropping that plan, but am also instead working on a series of crossover anime-themed fan art images for submission at this year's Otakuthon's art gallery showing called "Anime Tropes".
For the "Anime Tropes" plan, each piece will focus on a specific subject/theme or character type in Japanese Animation, with each piece featuring characters (or mecha in the case of the giant robot-themed installent of this series) that fit that type but coming from unrelated anime productions. The themes chosen for this are: sports fiction, male superheroes, martial arts, fantasy stars, magical girls, science-fiction, giant robots, and animal characters.
As for which characters will be included this fan art series, you'll see who they are when I upload the installments here at theOtaku.com.
