stararnold's Otakuthon 2012 Trip

Cosplays

Like every other year, Otakuthon had a lot of cosplayers attending with some dressing up as characters from anime/manga/Jap. video games and others dressing up as characters not from such. Plus, there were people in furry costumes, which was nice touch to bring some cuteness into the convention itself. While attending, I wore a Boota cosplay hat I bought at the Montreal-based anime store Sci-Fi Anime several months ago.

Examples of Japanese entertainment cosplay included Inu Yasha, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Metroid, Spice and Wolf, Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros., Macross Frontier, Macross: Do You Remember Love?, Lucky Star, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Dr. Slump, Dragon Ball, Gurren Lagann, Cardcaptor Sakura, Ranma 1/2, Pokemon, Digimon, Black Rock Shooter, Naruto, and Sailor Moon while examples of non-Japanese entertainment cosplay included Halo (though a Japanese/U.S. co-produced animated antholgy of Halo did get made), DC Universe, Marvel Universe, Sucker Punch, Adventure Time, Doctor Who/Torchwood, and V for Vendetta.

Also, I took more cosplay photos than during last year’s Otakuthon.
