A couple of months, I posted online at theOtaku.com, an outline on how I plan to work on my 5-illustration instalment series “Decades of Anime”, which is planned for art gallery showing at next year’s Otakuthon event. As mentioned before, each instalment of to be made in the project will cover a different decade in the history of Japanese Animation by featuring characters/mecha that appeared in anime released during that decade. While I plan to structure each instalment by placing the featured characters/mecha in dividing rectangles, I am considering increasing each one’s dimensions from 2.9 cm X 15.25 cm to 21.6 cm X 27.9 cm so that I can create reasonable figure scales for each character/mecha being featured. However, I have yet to decide whether to color the pieces digitally or traditionally, and my GIMP program is currently experiencing some bug problems at the moment after a recent upgrade.
In the earlier post about this project, I only mentioned titles of anime examples being covered in this series, and today, I reveal which character/mecha will represent each anime being covered per instalment of this art series. For each installment, the plan is to feature several male charcetrs, several females ones, and at least one mecha with at least one featured character (male or female) being an animal character.
Instalment 1 (1960s)
