Today marks the launch of Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, the prequel to the 2003 BSG miniseries to focus on William Adama's involvement in the 10th year of the first Cylon War. Recent sources confirmed that Universal Studios plans two edited versions: the 10-episode online series (which began today and can be found at Machinima.com and YouTube channel MachinimaPrime) and the two-hour T.V. film cut (scheduled to air on SyFy in early 2013). Here's hoping to see Cylon models that never got to be shown in Caprica (a short-lived prequel to the same 2003 miniseries) because of its cancellation.
While I look forward to seeing how the history of the 1st Cylon War unfolds in this webseries, I found out yesterday two days ago that Bryan Singer (director of 2000's X-Men film) confirmed with IGN back in August that the currently planned theatrical Battlestar Galactica movie, while introducing a new BSG universe, will try to the mix flavours from the original BSG universe and the that of the 2003 BSG miniseries and its 2004 T.V. series sequel when he said, "It will exist, I think, quite well between the Glen Larson and Ron Moore universes" (note that Glen Larson created the original BSG while Ron Moore co-created the 2003 BSG miniseries). I look foreward to hearing when it will be released 'cause I so can't fracking wait for more BSG excitement to come. So say we all!
