For all you die-hard "Death Note" fans living in Canada and the U.S., get ready as U.S. film/T.V. studio Warner Bros. has officialy received the rights to work on a live-action film adaptation of Takeshi Obata's popular Manga series "Death Note". According to the studio's plan, this movie will serve as an altenate telling of the chapters told in the first three of the series' 13 tankoubon volumes. However, the official release date is not yet decided.
Important notice to you fans: keep in mind that this movie will have its own continuity, separate from the Manga's own, and like any Manga-based/Anime-based U.S. film, this one's meant to be a fun treat for all the Anime/Manga fans living in North America, seeing that the makers of actual Anime/Manga themselves only consider Japanese viewers/readers as their target audiences, just like U.S. films target U.S. people. So be happy for goodness sake!
As for me, I predict this movie will be as much as a great horror story as its Manga basis.
