So, my dad was supposed to have had surgery on the 23rd to get Polyps removed from his colon. The surgery would require him to be in the hospital for 5 days, so over Christmas. The doctor ended up getting 85% of it on Friday and for some reason said he could just go home and to come back in 8 weeks to get the rest out.
Well, we had a great Christmas with my dad at home, but two days after Christmas, we found out the polyps are cancerous and that he might have Colon Cancer. They won't know for sure until they take out the rest of it next Wednesday.
My dad had to suffer through 7 or 8 months of treatment two years ago, and he's scared to go through it again, and I'm just sad that I can't be at home to help out my family. My mom and brother work a lot, and I want to be there for them, but I can't.
I'll just have to settle with frequent phone calls.
I just wanted to let everyone know that after tomorrow morning, I won't be on theO much. I'm going home for the holidays, and there's no internet, but I'll be back come next Thursday.

I just stumbled upon an interesting question: Which is easier: love or hate?
I think it is easier to hate someone than it is to love someone. We throw around both words carelessly. We hate it when the teacher gives us a lot of homework over the weekend, we love those shoes. But, we don't really, truly hate or love either of those things.
I think it's easier to find the things we don't like in other people, the things that irritate us and annoy the crap out of us. We do it every day. Whether you admit it or not, you judge every single person you see. She has pretty hair, he walks funny, she is wearing an ugly coat, he looks like a creeper, he's got a cute smile, etc. It's in our nature, and we can't help it as much as we may try. But, I think we are such a self centered group of people that we constantly compare ourselves to others and become jealous of others.
Whereas love is harder. It's harder to open yourself up to someone and allow them into your heart and soul. It's harder to look past the insecurities to see how great of a person they can truly be. It's harder to put your complete trust in someone and know they will never hurt you purposefully.
Love is a deeper feeling, I think, than hate. Of course, each person is different, and you have those that trust people easily and always look for the good in others, but that doesn't necessarily constitute love.
I have been in three relationships. In each one, it starts out promising. I get super excited and hopeful for the future. I trust them, I open up and I think everything is going to be great. However, I'm just naive. I have never actually loved them, and I never thought that I did.
The first boyfriend I ever had was when I was 18, and he was awesome to me. We had so much in common, and it was great. We told each other that we loved each other. And, I know he loved me, but I never actually loved him. When we broke up, I was fine with it. I never even really missed him. After him, I just haven't found a guy that I really connect with.
So, I that's why I think it's easier to hate people than it is to REALLY love a person.
