PART 3 START
The sunlight started to grow weak in the sky. Thana and Hikaru were ready for their roles, so they helped Kaoru and me with ours. The techies of the host/ess club, which are not to be named, had some fancy technology to help Kaoru and I with the ‘controlling’. I mean, I do trust Kaoru; it’s just slightly scary to be controlled. Then again I know will know how it will feel to be a puppet. Thana helped me keeping my poker/doll face. At least I can smile and be free on break! I’m thankful for that! Kaoru and I are now in practice and in costume.
The time has come. I look at everyone and say good luck. I take one deep breath. We all open the doors to the party. Thana and Hikaru take care of the dance floor on the first shift. Then they take Kaoru’s and my place in the game room.
Kaoru and I played some games against some other people. Sometimes we lost, sometimes we won. Either way we both had fun. I smiled at Kaoru and he would smile back. It was pretty fun using our brains and wits together!
“Aw, yet another game lost, huh, Kaoru?” I said with a slight smile.
“But we still had fun didn’t we?” He replied.
“Of course!” I said with a close-eyed smiled.
He blushed a little bit. I’m not totally sure why... It was warm with all the body warmth coming from the dance room, though. I think the school’s air conditioning bill is going to go up quite a bit tonight... I wonder how the others are doing.
I saw someone coming from the corner of my eye and poked Kaoru. He pushed the button on the cross bar, and we both got into formation. Kaoru moved my arm over the game board.
“Hello there. Do you want to play a game?” I said my best monochrome voice.
I looked up to find Thana giving me a weird look with Hikaru behind her.
“Oh! I’m sorry! I saw someone in the corner of my eye, and I thought it was a customer!”
I blushed of embarrassment.
“Well, as strange as that was, you did a good job! Did you dominate everyone?” Thana said with a gleam in her eyes.
“We had some losses but lots of fun, too!” replied Kaoru.
“That’s good! It’s our break time right now for fifteen minutes, and then we switch roles,” Hikaru spoke up.
Kaoru pushed the button, and my arm dropped on the table.
“-plop!- Ow… I’m okay-I’m okay!” I pushed my button and the strings’ magnetic attraction let go of my arms.
Kaoru looked worried at me and rubbed my shoulder.
“Sorry, Eeva! I didn’t mean to,” Kaoru apologized.
“It’s not your fault ^_^U! Don’t worry about me!” I said while rubbing my arm.
“You sure?” questioned Kaoru.
“I just need some happiness and some good music,” I assured him. I put my hand on his hand.
I looked at him, and we looked at our hands and blushed. My hand came down, and I looked down. Kaoru coughed and wrapped the string around the cross bar. I could feel Thana and Hikaru’s cat eyes on us, smirking.
“Let’s uh…-“
“Enjoy our break…”
“Right…”
