Many of you viewers in Canada and U.S. already know that this year's Academy Awards Ceremony will be held this Sunday. Regarding "Star Trek" (2009), good news for Trekkers is that it gets nominated for four categories. Bad new for trekkers is that none of the categories are of the major kind (according to TrekMovie.com). Anyway, the categories are listed below:

• Visual Effects (going up against Sci-Fi films "Avatar" and "District 9")
• Sound Editing (going up against "Avatar", "The Hurt Locker", "Inglorious Basterds", and "Up")
• Sound Mixing (going up against "Avatar", "The Hurt Locker", Inglorious Bastereds", and "Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen")
• Makeup (going up against "Il Divo" and "The Young Victoria")

I'm hoping that "Star Trek" (2009) gets at least one award, especially when last year turned out a big great comeback year for the "Star Trek" franchise
