News: Walter Koenig Will Get His Walk of Fame Star

The Holywood Chamber of Commerce has indicated this week that Walter Koenig, actor known for playing Pavel A. Chekov for 1966's "Star Trek" (better known as "Star Trek: The Original Series") and the first seven theatrical "Star Trek" films, will be getting a star plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, though no date for the placing is yet revealed. Prior to this event, there was an online campaign spending years demanding that Koening gets his star as he was the only member of the original "Star Trek" series' main cast to not yet get such an honor while the other six got theirs (William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelly, George Takei, Nichelle Nichols, and James Doohan). Back to the present day, Koenig happens to be in the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's 2012 list of honorees, which includes Malcolm MacDowell (another "Star Trek" actor), Adam West (voice of Mayor West on "Family Guy"), and Matt Groening (creator of "Futurama").
