News: IDW's Vision Of ST: TOS Expands

So far, IDW Publishing had already completed the six-issue miniseries "Star Trek: Year Four" (which ran July 2007 to January 2008) and the five-part miniseries "Star Trek: Year Four: The Enterprise Experiment (which ran from April 2008 to August 2008), both depicting to readers a part the publisher's version of the missing continuity gap between the original "Star Trek" series and "Star Trek: The Motion Picture". Now, IDW Publishing is running a six-issue comic book miniseries "Star Trek: Crew", which features readers its version of the birth and first adventure of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (the protagonal starship of the original "Star Trek"), and the first issue of this came out March 18, but you should go look for it while copies are still in stores.

In addition to "Star Trek; Crew", March 25 will mark the release of the first issue of another comic book miniseries from IDW, called "Star Trek: Mission's End". Like "Star Trek: Year Four", "Star Trek: Mission's End" depicts a part of IDW's version of the missing continuity gap between the original "Star Trek" series and "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", but this time, focussing on the last adventure in James T. Kirk's first five-year mission as commanding officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 and revealing not only Spock's and Dr. Leonard H. McCoy's reasons for leaving Starfleet, but also 2) Kirk's reason for accepting his promotion to the rank of Admiral.

Both miniseries are must reads for fans of the original "Star Trek"!
