The Mad House

We dragged Bill through the hall. It was raining. Pouring. Lightning came down in electric knives that cut through the clouds, lighting up the sky. We trudged through the dark hall. The electricity was probably cut off. We turned the corner in the darkness. Lightning sliced through the sky, revealing a prisoner.

“Lisa? Are you there?” he cried.

“Kill him,”I whispered, “I’ve dealt with one of these guys before.”

Jerome walked towards him with a baseball bat.

“Lisa. Sweet Lisa. Come here.”

Jerome lifted the bat. But never swung. He dropped his bat and gabbed his throat. I put Bill against the wall. Crap. Jerome was on his knees. Blood dripped out of his neck. The inmate held a six inch switchblade. Jerome looked up and held up his arm for protection. The prisoner sliced open Jerome’s face and Mr. Dreadlocks never got back up. I took my pipe out.

“I’m having a really bad day.” I said.

I swung the pipe into the prisoner’s leg. I looked down at Jerome’s lifeless body. It’s a shame he didn’t survive. The prisoner didn’t flinch from the blow and leaped at me. I jumped to the side as the blade swished past me.

“You stole Lisa from me!” He bellowed.

I swung and got him in the ribs. He backed up clutching his stomach and went for another slash. I rolled under his slice. I got up and hit him in the foot. The prisoner ran up my chest and kicked me in the face. I flew back and slid across the floor. The prisoner scampered towards me,his face gleeful. He would saw off my head and laugh.
But he didn’t. There was a gunshot. The prisoner grabbed his shoulder in pain. Bill sat against the wall with a smoking pistol.

The prisoner wasn’t done yet. But I was up with a pipe and baseball bat. I threw the bat
getting him in the jaw. I sprinted forward and jumped at him. I swung the bat with a downward force and broke his head open. The prisoner fell back. He wasn’t dead either.
He started to crawl towards me laughing like a child. I took his switchblade and stabbed it through the back of his head.

I cleaned off the blade and gave it to Bill just in case.

“You still had a bullet?” I said.

“Yeah. Just in case I had to shoot one of our friends.”
