Possession

A little disappointed that she could not stay longer, Galahad said, “Oh…well, good night.” Just as she was about to jog off, Galahad managed to stop her for a few moments to ask her one last question. “Wait, I don’t suppose you could direct me to a hotel or something close by for tonight? I can’t very well depend on my family tonight, and I need a place to stay.” He knew quite well that what he was saying was a tad desperate, but he wanted to stay with the woman just a while longer for fear of never seeing her again.

She looked at him quizzically for a few moments before she grinned, “Instead of a hotel, how about staying over at my place tonight?” At first Galahad was rather shocked at her directness. After a few seconds though, he accurately concluded that this was just how the woman was.

Shaking his head in defeat, he said, “Before this goes any further, I’d at least like to know your name.”

Void of hesitation and full of confidence, the woman announced, “My name is Selene Davis.”

Somehow, Galahad was not surprised to learn this. Smiling, Galahad said, “Well, Miss Selene Davis, I think I’ll have to take you up on your offer.”
