Last night, when I was playing Guild Wars, was an interesting mix of both fun times and equally stupid times. One of the main points of the game is to team up with people so I semi organized a group to go and do a bounty together. Someone else with more experience ended up setting up the party, but I asked them too so that was good. I got to see how they went about it, I learned a lot.
That particular deal went well other than someone playing a necromancer and thinking they could behave like a warrior/tank, which didn't work and nearly got everyone killed. But we managed to finish that just fine. So when someone else suggested doing another quest I was sure, why not?
Somehow I missed that it was a case of them running you to the end treasure chest. So you just sit there and do nothing while they get to the end. If I had realized this I wouldn't have gone because I like teamwork, waiting on someone else to do it for you is frankly ... quite boring.
Then to top it off, the person doing the running DIED so Des, myself and some other players had to fight our way there anyway and revive them so we could finish. XD That part was amusing actually. Though the person got the bright idea to pull the final boss, which spawns the final chest, which then starts a timer until you're zoned out…
This wouldn't have been a problem except there were fire guardians you need to kill first so you're not being bombarded to death by flame darts as you try to get your treasure from the final chest. =/
I died.
Fortunately one of the guild members snatched the prize I couldn't (cause it's hard to grab something when you're .. you know... DEAD) so that worked out okay. I had to leave so they could though. Stuff is assigned to a player and if you are there, no one but you can pick it up, even if you are dead.
So at least it was nice to know I can trust fellow guild members. I won't do that again though. I like teamwork, it's more fun. =) Anyway, later after a break I ended up teaming up with someone to do the last mission for one of the campaigns.
Holy hell was that a mess, lag from hell, monsters running towards you from across the entire screen... (usually they don't do that) everything that could go wrong, did. This time I was with someone who isn't a whiner and it because a personal vendetta between both of us to beat the final boss, even though our hero's had nearly a full death penalty against them.
So it was absolutely insane and yet totally funny that we still beat it anyway. It was a mixture of annoying and fun at the same time. XD Anyway, final result, I was up too late. lol
