Fair warning this is a bit of a rant and it has religious roots in it so if you don't like my opinion on it that's fine just do me and everyone a favor and don't flame or create a fuss.
Anyway, basically I learned about a deal where it seems people have the notion that there are first tier and second tier religions and therefore the second ones don't deserve protection under the religious clauses of our government.
I'll give you two links on this, one with more information and a second that is a petition that disagrees with allowing this type of discrimination.
Petition (yes I signed it)
Now for anyone who really knows me I'm not religious and I don't intend to change that anytime soon. However I am very much for the freedom to worship as you see fit and that everyone needs to have the dignity to treat others who have different views with respect.
And to make it more clear, so long as people aren't breaking the law, and by that I of course mean stuff like no murder, etc (no, having a different religion doesn't qualify as breaking the law) then others really need to just STFU and quit trying to tell people what they can and can't worship.
Now why would a non-religious person get in arms over something like this? I'm in the same boat as anyone else. If I want others to respect my choice to not believe in or follow any religious practices; then I have to give them the same courtesy for what they do or don't believe in.
Anyway, that sums it up. Have a good weekend everyone.
