Tsubasa: Not Political Stuffffffff

I don't plan on talking about the events that happened here in American yesterday, well other than one tiny thing (read the spoiler if you wish and at your own risk): Yes I'm happy that Obama won. =3

What I thought would be more fun to talk about, is what I decided to do with a gift card for Borders that I got for my birthday last month. It's hard to decide just what to get when there's a lot of stuff you really want.

So I finally opted to start with my latest obsession and went to the book store to pick up the first four volumes of the series Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCle.

What makes that rather ironic, is the pattern on the gift card that I was given. And since a picture is so much better that words, I found one of the exact one I got.

That still makes me snicker a bit. It's all shiny and even has glitter on part of the pattern. lol Still, picture aside, it was a nice gift. ^_^

Now even though I took advantage of scans that were translated to read this series, there's nothing like picking up a hard copy of something you really enjoy. And this one has turned out to be a good investment. Not only are all of the actions translated, but there is a section on the honorifics at the beginning and other character info and tidbits at the end of the first volume.

What really made it worth while, and is going to drive me to get all of them, is how there are aspects that seem to have been left out by the 'scans' that were posted at the place where I originally read it. Now my favorite characters in this series are Fai and Kurogane; so getting to see more interaction between the two is sweet.

Here's an example, take this page here: Tsubasa In the third panel, or rather the top left hand corner of the page, both Fai and Kurogane are saying something. As you can see, there is nothing there.

But in the copy I picked up I got to see what was missing. =3 I'll share it with all of you.

Kurogane: Why do I have to stay with a complete stranger!
Fai: I'm not a stranger! I told you my name didn't I?

And in the very next panel, where Mokona is on Kurogane's shoulder, there is conversation there that is also missing.

Mokona: Mokona told you Mokona's name!
Kurogane: You're stranger than all the rest!

So though it was great to use the scans to get acquainted with Tsubasa, it's even more fun to have a legal copy that has been fully translated. And of course the images are more clear and even the English is a little more smooth.

I really like this series and had planned on picking it up anyway, but those extra little things as I've been re-reading it, just make me smile. ^_^ Oh and I'm sure you all noticed... I decided to change the header image for my world. The semi Neo Angelique Abyss theme has ended. I don't know how long the Tsubasa one will stick around. I'm undecided on that. =P
