Chapter Four
--
Sora was surprised. He expected Riku to ask him about earlier, but the silverette did not say a thing about it. The younger male shrugged however, and allowed himself to be dragged away.
“I have someone to introduce you to, so be obedient and follow me,” Riku finally said as he was dragging Sora by his arm down the halls. The brunette looked at him with a confused look before he nodded and opened his mouth to say something.
“Why are you wearing those shades? I don’t really understand…it’s not THAT bright to exaggerate and wear sunglasses,” he pointed out.
Riku stopped and looked at Sora, his lips curved into a frown, “I thought that you didn’t like my eyes. You don’t like my eyes so I’m hiding them to where you can’t see them.”
“…You think I don’t like your eyes?” Sora asked stupidly, not really understanding what Riku had said.
“I don’t like repeating myself, Sora,” Riku answered as he reached up and ran a hand through his hair, obviously getting aggravated, his temper rising suddenly.
“Well…I like your eyes, “ he reached out and snatched the glasses off of Riku’s face before he smiled lightly. “I think your eyes are very pretty and compliment your silver hair and scary flawless pale skin.” The brunette then nodded, obviously proud of himself and now in a good mood.
“Well now…those are some brave words, Sora!” Riku laughed, his green eyes sparkling. "All right. No sunglasses."
"Good...now...who are you going to introduce me to?" Sora asked in confusion. His confusion was sudden, but understandable.
"A guy with a mullet and bright blue eyes like yours but smaller and not as attractive," Riku pointed to Sora, "and he's taller than you. And older. Try not to die from laughter upon seeing him." The elder male joked half-heartedly.
It was bound to happen and Riku could feel it in the pit of his stomach. He was going to end up hurting Sora like he hurt the others. He was going to become cruel and unfeeling like usual, once again never smiling. But that never stopped him from asking Sora what was wrong with him and actually considering the boy's feelings by wearing shades inside of the bright white halls when he came to bring the boy back to the room. And then there was Roxas--that was something that Riku was bound to find out sooner or later. He really wanted to know and it ate away at his soul, irking his heart and confusing him.
Since when did he care so much about what happened to the kid?
"Sora?"
"Yeah?"
"You don't have to tell me who Roxas is right now...but one day, I'll really need to know who he is and what connection he has to you. You'll tell me sometime later about Roxas, won't you Sora?" Riku asked, his voice tinted with hints of hesitation. He glanced down at the boy.
Sora's blue hues softened before he sighed, looked away, and smiled, "Roxas was my childhood friend and boyfriend."
The silverette nodded but then he did a double take, triple take, and a quadruple take, "Boyfriend?" He asked to confirm what he had heard.
"Yes," he nodded, "my boyfriend!" A blush suddenly stained Sora's cheeks as he thought about the slightly older male.
Riku felt a pang of something decidingly fuzzy in his chest but he brushed it off quickly. "Tell me about him."
"Well...Roxas was a little bit taller than me, but not taller than you. He had blonde hair and bright blue eyes, kinda like mine. He was easily satisfied. He wasn't the happiest person in the world but he managed. But he was the happiest person when he was with me. He told me so and he was honestly telling the truth. I could tell! He was always smiling when he was with me."
"Wait," Riku interrupted., "what do you mean he was easily satisfied?"
"He was satisfied with the simple things--hugging, a simple kiss, and sleeping in the same bed. He didn't rush things. Kinda like how he didn't rush his confession...," Sora laughed at the fond memory of a flustered blonde, "I knew the guy since the cradle and was oblivious to his feelings. It took us twelve years, Riku-san--twelve years to get it right. He was blushing so much that night, too. I mistook his face for a tomato! He was so adorable!”
“Did you accept his feelings right away?” Riku asked.
“Yes, siree! I felt the same way!” Sora announced proudly.
God, he must have been hurting at that point in time…
“Wasn’t it…I’unno…hard for you two? Was it awkward?” Riku was curious today.
“It was awkward after we kissed.”
“Woah, how many levels of kissing are we talking about here?”
“W-well…” the brunette blushed as he told the elder male.
--Flashback scene begins! —
“I…Sora, would you freak out on me if I told you one of my secrets?” Roxas asked as he looked over at his best friend.
Sora looked back at the blonde and grinned, “When have I ever freaked out about one of your secrets? Come on, Roxy! You’ve told me anything that has come into your head! I mean, Roxy,” Roxas shivered, “we know everything about each other! You even know the size of my boxers!”
“Hey, you know the size of mine too, Sor!” The slightly elder male retorted with a laugh.
Roxas and Sora were at a park near Roxas’ house. They had gone there multiple times when they were younger and had begun to meet there after hours. Needless to say, Sora became an expert at climbing down trees and Roxas mastered the art of picking the lock of his front door and window. Roxas was always the first one there though and he waited for his best friend to show up. When he did though he was always gasping for air from his run and waving to Roxas, calling out to him with forced breaths.
They were there again at night, sitting next to each other on the swings, staring up as the sky in wonder. Roxas seemed to be in deep thought, however, and Sora was confused and worried.
The blonde finally looked Sora in the eye, his own true blue eyes piercing the other’s own. “Promise me that you won’t stop being my friend if I tell you my secret. If you promise me that, I’ll tell you.”
Sora felt his heart beat increase and he blushed lightly before he nodded, “Y-yeah...! I promise I won’t stop being your friend, Roxy! But what’s so important that I wouldn’t be your friend anymo—mm!”
The rest of Sora’s sentence was put to rest and muffled when warm lips covered his own. Sora’s eyes widened and he stared at Roxas’ closed ones before he noticed the blonde’s blush.
Roxas had gotten off of his swing without Sora’s notice and stood before the boy with his hands on either side of his head, gripping the chains of the swing. His eyes were closed comfortably and there was a blush on his cheeks that made him appear rosy there. He was shaking slightly, nervous and afraid that Sora would reject him. When Sora did not pull away though, Roxas gathered a bit more courage and pressed his lips harder against the brunette’s own.
Pressing his lips against Roxas’, Sora returned the kiss willingly. He felt Roxas’ deep intake of breath as the blonde shifted his angle slightly before he closed his eyes.
Roxas’ right hand moved from its place on the chain and traveled down to Sora’s cheek, cupping it tenderly. Roxas could have died right there from the mere state of bliss he was in. Butterflies made themselves present on his stomach and the rosy blush he had before was gone. He decided to be bold and moved his left hand down to a patch of Sora’s exposed skin near his hips and placed it there, feeling the heated skin against his fingertips. He then heard Sora gasp as expected and he quickly slipped his tongue in the opening. Roxas knew he was taking an extremely large leap of faith.
Sora was barely coherent enough to process the fact that Roxas had kissed him, but God that touch felt so good at the moment. He was going to lose it very soon…but when a certain probing muscle touched his that was it. Without warning, Sora’s hands came to life; his left grabbed Roxas’ shirt and pulled his closer and his right moved under Roxas’ arm to grab the clothing over his back.
The blonde was far too gone to care. He had coerced Sora’s tongue into twirling and twisting with his own sensually, the heat suddenly pouring and rushing straight to his lower regions. Roxas pressed Sora closer to his body and earned himself a sudden moan. The blonde finally broke the kiss and laughed slightly when Sora whimpered. He proceeded to explain himself. “Listen, Sora…when you moan like that, it shoots straight to my groin…and if I’m painfully aroused, I don’t think I know what I’ll do! So, don’t give me that look…all right?” Roxas nipped at the corner of Sora’s mouth and earned a soft mew. “Cute.”
Sora huffed suddenly, his cheeks puffing out like a chipmunk, “I am not cute! And I don’t get it! Not at all!”
“What do you mean?” Roxas asked. He leaned over and nuzzled his nose in Sora’s neck, closing his eyes and crumbling to his knees.
“Why did you…kiss me like that?” Sora blushed. “I just don’t get it!”
Roxas felt his face heat up and he pulled back slightly to look Sora in the eye. “I…I love you Sora. I really love you!”
“…pft!” Sora suddenly covered his mouth, earning a confused look from a blushing Roxas. “You look like a tomato!”
“Hey! Did you just blow my confession off?! Sora, I—“ Roxas was shut up and cut off when Sora pressed his lips to the blonde’s forehead. “—huh?”
“Hey…stupid…I love you too, all right?” Sora hugged Roxas and grinned like a geek.
Roxas felt a wave of relief wash over him before he nodded and kissed Sora’s neck.
--Flash back scene end!—
“Woah…that was—“
“—la la la, I can’t hear you!” Sora plugged his ears before Riku could give his honest opinion.
“That was so…! That was so…!” An unknown voice began. Sora turned around to see a blonde make with an 80’s rocker hairstyle, or a mullet as one would prefer, and bright blue eyes staring at him. Those same blue eyes were brimming with tears.
“H-huh?” Sora blinked in confusion, unplugging his ears.
“That was so romantic!” He yelled and began to cry.
Sora panicked and put his arms in front of his face, “Uhm…I’m sorry!”
“Huh? What’s Demyx crying about now?” A certain pyromaniac asked. Sora then noticed that Axel was standing next to ‘Demyx’.
“Oh…how long were you two standing there?” Sora asked.
“Somewhere between ‘would you freak out if I told you one of my secrets?’ and ‘a wave of relief washed over him before he nodded and kissed Sora’s neck.’ . Yup,” Axel grinned.
“You have a great memory…” Sora blushed, obviously embarrassed.
Riku stared at Sora’s face and wondered briefly what would happen if he pulled something that would result in his testicles being but off by an enraged Cloud Strife. He decided not to and merely looked at Axel with a frown, “Weren’t you going to go clubbing or something? Go away.”
Axel scratched the back of his head gingerly and stuck his tongue out at the other boy, “Yeah, but Demyx was heading back to his room with groceries so I decided to help him first. Besides, I didn’t want to miss a talk with Dora!” He reached out and hugged Sora quickly.
“You really are a leech…” Riku muttered under his breath, resisting the urge to tell Cloud about Axel’s clinging to Sora. He wanted very badly to watch Axel get maimed by Cloud. But Sora looked happy.
Axel laughed and nuzzled the top of Sora’s head, digging his nose in the soft brown locks. He liked the feeling of them. “Only for cute ukes!” He exclaimed happily.
Demyx blinked, fully recovered from his tears, and decided to step in between Axel and Riku with a grin before Riku shanked Axel. “Hey, why don’t you all come and see me play at the café tomorrow night?!”
“That’s a great idea, Demy! It’ll give Sora and I some more time to get to know each other,” Axel said, unconsciously rubbing Sora’s back with his knuckles.
Sora pulled away from Axel with a blush and looked at Demyx, “What do you play?”
Sora had always been fascinated with instruments and his music collection and knowledge were something to be admired and feared. He loved music, second only to Roxas. Roxas never pulled Sora away from music or instruments. He only encouraged it further.
“I play a sitar,” Demyx held on to his groceries as he bounced up and down happily.
Axel rolled his deep jade eyes and grinned, “I sing!”
“…wow!” Inner Sora was currently entering super fan girl mode, but that did not show on the outside. Sora did his best to resist the urge to jump up and down with Demyx. “I’ll definitely come and see you! So will Riku,” he said, vouching for the other male.
“What?!” Riku gave Sora the “are-you-crazy??” look but earned himself Sora’s infamous puppy dog eyes. He gave in shortly after with a defeated sigh.
Still your breathing
Filling up my lungs with oxygen
I take you in
I died…
