Japanese Indie Band Grapevine Plays Free Show in Brooklyn

Friend of show Superglorious is presenting a free show at 9 PM on March 24 at the Public Assembly (70 North 6th Street) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The event -- Wall of Love -- is headlined by Japanese indie superstars Grapevine and New York favorite Apollo Heights. The event also features up and coming indie rockers Cale Parks and Autodrone.

Although this is one of their first shows in the United States, Grapevine is a big name in Japan and have been touring their home country since their second album debuted at number three on the national charts in 1999. Every album since has landed in the Japanese Top 10, and their latest album -- their ninth -- was released July 2008. Grapevine is best described as uncompromising. They spare no expense at delivering a distinctive performance and sound and are influenced by blues, soul, and classics such as the Beatles and Neil Young.
