NYC's a great city. We've got art, we've got theater, we've got world-class chefs. And we've got not one but two festivals celebrating the best of cinema coming out of Asian. The New York Asian Film Festival's already in full swing (subwaycinema.com), and they'll be jointed shortly by Japan Society's Japan Cuts Festival.
July 1-16, Japan Cuts returns as the only large-scale Japanese film festival in North America, offering US and NY premieres of the latest and best in Japanese motion pictures. In its fourth consecutive year, the summer festival will screen over 20 titles, including co-presentations with the New York Asian Film Festival and a special selection of films from the last decade (Best of Unreleased Naughties!) which have not been treated to US release.
