My mother wept into my chest, clinging to me. I only ever saw my mother cry once, and that was when my brother Maat died years ago. I knew she was telling the absolute truth. I am a full blooded demon. Not some mut. I wondered about my friends. Were they muts or full demons? I decided not to tell my mother about what I heard Kyuubi say. I rubbed my mom's back to comfort her.
"I'm sorry I'm sorry..." the words my mother clung onto.
After a few minutes her cries began to ease. She shakily stood up and wiped the tears from her eyes. Then she looked at me and tears began to build up again.
"I'm sorry." she whispered running upstairs.
I didn't know why this made her so...so...I didn't even know what. I stared at the top of the stairs for a few moments. Before slowly turning my head to gaze at the whole kitchen. My heart felt heavy. I knew that this was bad. But I didn't know why. Plus, why was it kept a secret from me all these years? Why had it given my mother so much pain? I doubt I will ever know.
I looked at the clock. 11:49
'I should go to bed...' I thought, knowing I wouldn't get much sleep.
It took me 4 hours to fall asleep, and when I did, it was more like a nap than sleep. But when I thought of Houkou...it helped me. Like, my mind would clear, and be peaceful.
I woke up later than usual. I checked my cell. But as soon as I closed it, it started to ring. I answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hi this is Houkou...I was wondering something..."
"Ok...What?" I realized that I sounded angry. Good thing Houkou has a light soul.
"Um...I was wondering if you wanted to go out--I mean, come with me to this great Chinese restaurant? Then we can go to the lake." he asked.
I could hear the hope in his voice.
"Ah, Ya! I'd love to!" I said excitedly, hoping it would make up for being mean sounding earlier.
"Great! I'll pick you up!" *ends conversation*
I sighed. I didn't want to get out of bed. I ignored the growling stomach, until I just couldn't take it. I got out of bed and went down stairs to find a bowl with a cereal box sitting next to it. A note sat next to the bowl.
Thought you may want this. Mom.
I smiled. At least she's feeling better. I poured the cereal into the bowl. Then looked in the fridge. No milk.
'Man. This stinks' I thought. I looked at the bowl. And poked at the cereal for a few seconds. Then picked up the little grains with me spoon and tossed it into my mouth and chewed. It was some sort of wheat grains. It didn't taste very good, but I ate it and rinsed out the bowl.
Then I went upstairs and took a cold shower. I never really liked cold hot showers, but I didn't like lukewarm either. So, cold was the only thing left on the faucet. I finished, got dressed, and looked at the time.
2:37 pm.
I grunted. And went outside to sit on the porch. I meditated for how long I can't even remember. When I went inside to check the time it was...
6:24 pm.
I usually have dinner around 5 but, that only means Houkou should be coming soon. I went back outside and waited. After a few minutes I saw Houkou coming from the end of the street. I waved. And he grinned and walked faster.
"Hey." he greeted when he got to the steps.
I stood up. "Hey, ya ready?"
"Only if you are." he smiled.
We walked to the restaurant. He had made reservations too. The place was called, "China Phoenix" He ordered sweet n sour chicken with fried rice, and I ordered sesame chicken with fried dumplings. We both had green tea.
"This is great!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, me and my family used to come here every week." Houkou explained.
We ate and Houkou paid our bill.
"You didn't have to do that." I said.
"Well, I would rather pay than have to do the dishes." he joked.
He knew I didn't carry money with me. But I laughed too.
When we reached the lake it was the sun had gone down and the lampposts were lit. We walked onto the dock and took off our shoes. Then we sat down at the edge.
"Um...Neka. Have you ever heard anything of--" Houkou began.
"Demons?" I asked.
He looked dumbfounded. So I explained.
"I heard Kyuubi say that when he followed me home."
"So is that the only time you heard about demons?" he asked nervously.
"No..."
"..." he excepted an answer to when else.
"My mom told me about them. Are you a demon?"
"Uh. Yeah. I'm the five tailed dog."
"Are you part of the legendary 9?" I asked.
"Yeah. So is the rest of the group..." he explained. Then he started on about which demons were who.
"So, none of you are muts?" I asked nervously.
"No...are you?"
I couldn't speak. I froze. My mind went blank, I almost forgot I was a full demon. Until he coughed awkwardly, I was snapped back into reality.
"Um..."
"Yeah..." he pushed anxiously.
"I'm the two tailed cat."
Then a horrified look appeared on his face.
What did I do wrong?
"Gross, I think I just barfed up my stomach," I groaned.
"Where'd that drunk tanuki get to. I need to kill him!" Suki shouted.
The boat was on land and the giant Shukaku ran off to another bar. Seems like the Akatsuki are gone too, well, except for Naara. "Suki said she was a part of Akatsuki, so Naara, you need to take her back to Itachi. I know they are trying to capture us, but she won't come with us, so it's your job to take care of her. I need to get that tanuki baka."
After saying that I ran off to find Shukaku. Suki did not understand why she wasn't killed. 'I thought they'd finish me off, but they let me out of the cage and even though I got them irritated, they haven't tried killing me. Now they say Akatsuki have been tring to capture them. I know it's because they are trying to kill me, but why haven't they done it and left me here?' she thought.
Naara noticed Suki in deep thought and asked, "Something on your mind?"
"No, nothing at all," she lied.
I was dashing and jumping from building to building in my human form. "Damn, you'd think finding a huge tanuki that's drunk would be easy!"
My head was still aching from that tanuki shoving sake down my throat, but I wasn't being perverted with the temptresses known as "women." I could control myself and not be out of control. That tanuki however, you couldn't get him under control if you brought Maury Povich to him directly.

Finally after jumping from tall building to tall building, I finally spotted that drunkard. What was that in his claw though and where was he headed? Then I realized and said, "Oh s%#t!"
