“Hachi!” Maki said gabbing my arm, “Is she really going to kill them? Really? Hachi I don’t want to see this! Please make her stop! Hachi! Please don’t let her do this! They have lives too! Hachi are you hearing me?!”
“Maki…..” I started, “they are evil people.”
“I don’t care! Hachi they can’t die! Please make her stop! Hachi!” Maki’s nails were in my arm now.
I remained frozen in place as Maki dug her nails further into my arm to the point of bleeding.
“I won’t fight,” I answered grabbing the chess piece that was still around my neck, “Thissss game has no place for a black knight.”
“Die you Akatski!” Suki yelled throwing someone through the air, “I’m going to massacre you all!”
Suddenly Suki turned to another I recognized as Yurikami…..that one…….
“You are part of the Akatski…..” Suki growled, “You left us for power! You deserve to die too!”
For some reason Yuri refused to fight….. She was forced back and back away from Suki’s attacks but would not recoil and launch her own attacks. Why would she waist this opportunity to try and slay another biju….For that matter, I couldn’t understand why she would not defend herself. After the time that she nearly killed me……this was a different Yuri…… This was a Yuri that needed protection…..Shukaku seemed to have his hands full with Itachi who seemed even more angry than usual…..I had to protect….This was a reason to fight…..
My body was faster than usual. As Suki who had backed Yuri into a corner was about to finish of the girl, my hand moved in and grabbed Suki’s wrist.
“Hachi! Let go Dam it! She’s Akatski! Let go!” Suki yelled digging her nails into my skin. What was with women and digging their nails in my skin lately?
“Don’t harm sssomeone that refusssesss to defend herself,” I said flatly.
“Hachi! Did you not hear me? She’s Akatski! Let go and let me kill her!” Suki yelled again.
“You are not the Suki I know….the Suki I know would not resort to killing like thisss,” I hissed, “And I refuse for you to continue thissss.”
“Hachi…..” Suki said quietly with her head down, “I thought you of all people would understand…..this is the girl that nearly took your life, and you are defending her?”
“Kai’s pact…..” Yuri said behind me. I turned my head a bit to see her. She was backed up it the corner still, “Hachi…..I promised Kai….And I don’t think I can keep that promise….”
“Kai?” I asked.
“He was crying….and I made a promise that I wouldn’t hurt anyone again…..so I don’t care Suki! I don’t care if you try and attack me! I will honor that promise I made to Kai…..”
“Kai!” Suki said, “You’re lying! How dare you! How dare you try to hide behind the boy who nearly had his brother taken away! Hachi dam it let go!”
More nails….more nails…. More nails….I seriously wondered where these people got such nails....
“Suki….” I said, “I believe Yuri.”
“You idiot! Hachi! Baka! If you won’t, then I will kill!” Suki yelled. She managed to break free and backed away from me black eyes on mine.
“Yuri,” I started.
“Hachi…..I…..I never said I was sorry…..for….”
“It was my choice to stop that fight….I have no regrets about that Yuri….And I have no regrets about protecting you….I don’t care if you are lying to me about Kai….I don’t care….”
“Hachi!” Suki yelled, “I don’t care if I have to fight you!”
“Fine….” I answered, "Yuri please go over to where Maki is.....I have a bit of work to do..."
