"Hachi look at the moon!" Maki said staing out the window, "It's so full!"
"Remindsss me of Shukaku," I said opening a pokey box. The room service in the hotel was increduble.
"Hachi why are you always so stressed?" Maki asked, "You look ready to kill even when you're near your friends."
"I've found trussst isss something I lack," I answered, "I have only put trust in a few people and it always endssss badly."
"You mean the time you were trying to kill yourself," Maki said putting her forhead on the glass.
"That and other timessss," I answered, "Kinda like a knigh. I can only move in Ls dodging ever attack at the lassst moment."
"Do you always have to bring up that game?" Maki asked.
"It'ssss the way I think," I answered.
"You think too much," Maki laughed, "In terms of your game. What piece would I be?"
"A rook," I answered, "One minute you're here the next you take my heart and run."
"I do not! Hachi I'm right here!" Maki nearly yelled.
"That'sss not what I meant," I answered, "I've never gave my heart to anyone even when I was a child I sepearted myself just enough. Even to my ssssister."
"Hachi I don't want to open wounds. Please don't talk if you don't want to," Maki said quietly.
"It'sss ok. Those wounds are gone. All that are left are scars."
"Hachi....how is this ever going to work," Maki asked.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm human. Someday I'm going to grow old and die. And the you'll be alone again."
"I don't care Maki," I answered, "I'll find a jutsu that will keep you alive forever."
"No....Hachi, I don't want that," Maki answered, "I want to experience life. Because for humans time is precious."
"Then let me have that time Maki," I said grabbing her shoulder, "let me have that time."
"Hachi I don't want you to be lonely," Maki said.
"Maki you would make me lonly if you left now," I answered, "Even even if you marry a human and raise kids. I would still love you from afar."
"Hachi.....I hate this....." Maki said tears in her eyes.
"I don't mean to hurt you Maki...." I said quietly, "Ssso I'll leave."
"Hachi I didn't mean iit like that!" Maki yelled.
"But you made it clear to me. You want a normal life.....and I can't give you that. We couldn't even have children.....Maki.....it's best....if I leave."
I got up and walked out of the room. Closing the door quietly behind. I heard Maki nearly scream out my name, but I kept walking. I walked alone that night.
