A Blank Expression, And Wanting Cause

Hachimata was acting like a child. Once I put up my barrier, I couldn't have it released unless the fight inside was over. Hachi was looking at me with anger in his eyes, but after that, I had no expression. It was a cross between blank and disappointment. "Do you really think you can kill me?"

"Yeah, I believe I can," he hissed.

"I can't do anything about the barrier."

"What do you mean?!" he snapped, pulling me up to him closer.

My expression had no amusement or fear. "Once the barrier is set, it won't go away unless a battle is won. I can't do anything about it."

"You don't care about Maki at all!"

"Hachimata, I can't do anything!"

"There issss a way!"

"STOP ACTING CHILDISH! I know you care about her, but she'll be okay."

"What if sssshe isssn't then?"

"That's your point to decide."
