Wake up time

“I’m not Hachimata,” I said feeling weak tears come to my eyes, “I don’t want to be that weakling that suppressed me…..I hate him…..I hate him…..”

I felt the new chakras around me like flames. They were burning more holes in me. I wanted to fight back! I wanted to destroy them all for what they were doing. They were deliberately hurting me and not finishing the job.

“D. Kyuubi,” I breathed, “Sssave me….”

“He won’t help you,” Kyuubi said still staring at me, “He’s not that kind of demon. Either you will find what you are lacking or this place will be your burial ground.”

“Kill me then dam it!” I yelled, “I want thisss I don’t care anymore! I killed Hachimata becaussse I hated him! Do any of you hear?! Kill me! I hurt you all! I sssslayed Hachimata! I killed hisss family! Take hisss revenge! Kill me!”

There was silence again and my muscles continued to contract and retract involuntarily. I twitched and felt things pulling away from me to be eloped in darkness.

“Dark,” a voice said calmly.

“Whossse there!” I hissed into the darkness.

“Dark it’ssss me,” the voice answered.

“Hachimata…..” I said quietly, “But you’re dead….”

“Ya I know,” was the answer.

“But then…..did Kyuubi kill me?” I asked.

“He’sss not that kind,” Hachi answered.

“Ssso then…..”

“You killed me, Maki, and Kai…….and we’re all at peace with that, but you’re not Dark,” Hachimata smirked.

“You know what I’m lacking don’t you!” I yelled, “Tell me! Tell me now! Be munificent! Please! Tell me!”

“Heh you’ve fallen sssso low Dark,” Hachi smirked, “When we were both alive you were the part that ravaged me and hurt me ssso much…..now you beg me for the anssswer to preserving yourself. You weak basssstard. I can’t believe I lossst to sssuch a weakling.”

“You-you hate me don’t you?” I asked, “If you were alive you would want to kill me right?”

“No,” Hachimata answered, “Hating you would be hating myssself. I learned that when we broke apart. We are the ssame being jussssst sssplit in two. I carry no hate for you now. And sssince I’m not alive it doesssn’t really matter the anssswer to the second question.”

“Hachimata,” I said confused, “How can you not hate me? How can you ssay that you don’t?”

“Heh one of the thingsss I learned while being dead. I learned that hate makesss nothing but pain. Ssso now I refussse to hate especially you.”

“Hachi…..” I said.

“Heh you’re Hachi too,” Hachimata smiled.

“I am not,” I answered.

“Keep telling yourself that and there’ssss no doubt in my mind that you’re going to be joining me in the afterlife sssoon,” Hachi smirked.

“Hachimata,” I said hissing less than before, “If we are the ssame…..then why did I kill you?”

“Kyuubi already told you the anssswer,” Hachimata commented, “You wanted to kill yourssself and though you could do it by killing me.”

“Hachimata,” I said feeling angry tears now, “I hate you……I hate how much ssstronger than me you are…..I hate it……”

“You’re wrong,” Hachi answered, “We are the ssame and have the ssame power…..”

“Hachi….what can I do? What can I do…..I killed you…..my better half…..” I asked.

“You have to rise to be the better half now,” Hachi smirked, “Until Shukaku goesss back to the past and fixes thisss mess, I am dead.”

“Hachi you’re making thisss to hard!” I yelled, “You go back! Ussse my body! You do it!”

“Ssssorry but I’m dead,” Hachi smirked again, “If you ever want to fill the void in your life, you have to do it on your own.”

“Hachi you cruel bassstard,” I hissed, “At leassst tell me what I am lacking…..”

“You and I both know what that issss,” Hachimata answered stopping the smirk on his face to make one of a more serious manner, “You lack the ability to forgive yourssself.”

“What?” I asked confused once again.

“Heh maybe you are the ssstupider of usss,” Hachi said with his smirk returning, “You felt the regret of killing Kai, Maki, and me…...your own heart wassss tearing you apart…..”

“I’m sssorry Hachi….” I said for the first time, “I’m ssssorry…..”

“Heh don’t worry it will all work out,” Hachimata said.

Suddenly Hachi seemed to vanish, and I opened my eyes to find I was still lying on the ground. My body was less heavy, but I remained laying down. There was a conversation erupting around me between the group.
