I finally got something to eat, it was a small robin. It wasn't very filling, i'm sure I could have done better but i'll live with it. I curled up into a ball under the lean-to. I tried to stay awake, to think about what I should do but my eyes began to give in and I soon fell asleep.
I was in a clearing but it was hard to make out where. I was standing staring up at the full moon. Suddenly a black bird shape flew in front of it. It was a huge black raven. The raven landed gracefully in front of me. It wasn't a normal raven, I couldn't place it but something was different about it. It looked at me, then at the sky, took off and flew away. "Hey come back!" I called running after it. Soon I couldn't see it anymore and suddenly the moon disappered, the stars and the grass under my feet until everything was dark. I stopped running and looked around. There was a pair of glowing red eyes in front of me. I felt fear rise up inside of me, suddenly a cold hand grabbed my neck. It kept getting tighter and tighter, black spots dotted my vision. I was helpless as it picked me up by the neck.
I woke up screaming at the top of my lungs. I wiped sweat off my face. Only a dream, it was only a dream. I thought breathing short, quick breaths. I crawled out of the lean-to, maybe walking would help. The forest really was beautiful, even in the dark of night. There was only me and the still slience of the night. I felt the ground give in under my feet, I didn't have time to scream as I rolled down the hill. I must not have seen it in the dark. When I finally came to a stop, I was facing the sky. There was a full moon, I smiled I always liked full moons. Then it hit me I was looking at a full moon and as I sat up I felt my heart sink as I noticed I was in a clearing, same clearing that was in my dream.
