Victor -- Calling

Victor felt something calling him, tugging at his soul. He knew the feeling, his eyes narrowed momentarily before he plastered a look of cheerfulness on his face.
"Leon!" He called to the solitary figure
"Yes?"
"There's something I need to check out, go on without me. I'll catch up to you in awhile."
Leon nodded shortly and started off again. Victor turned around and walked swiftly to a nearby clump of birch trees.
"Come out" He snapped. "I know you're there. I can feel your soul from miles away."
"You always did have that talent." A voice spoke from in a tree. Victor didn't turn around.
"I've been watching you, you know. You're supposed to be dead."
"Not as dead as you'll be in a few moments."
"Now now, where has you sense of humor gone Mediator." The woman sauntered around him till she was facing Victor. She was, as he had suspected, a messenger from one of the deities; Incendio, probably.
"My Lord wants to know why you are traveling with the Evil One."
Victor snorted "Oh please! Evil One? That's hardly original."
"Silence Mediator!" The woman hissed. Victor noticed, with some interest, that she had a snake tongue. How interesting.
"My Lord would have you speak!"
"And if I don't?"
"Then I will strike you down as the infidel you are." Her eyes slit.
"How about we try this" Victor blurred for one second and when the Messenger looked down she saw a dagger thrust in her stomach.
"How?!"
"Tell your Master that I'm not anyone's 'Mediator'. . .if you live to tell the message, that is."
He turned, and walked away without a further glance.
"Leon will be interested to know that he's got the Fire God looking for him."
A wicked smirk spread across the newly turned villain's face.
