Once Victor was healed I managed to get Tessa to shut up and I walked toward him. I kept my hand near my whip because, frankly, he seemed more than a bit unstable. I mean, II can be a bit sarcastic, and I think Tessa is too soft, but even I wanted to help him. I couldn't even begin to imagine what had happened to him that he was like this.
"Get away" he said to me as i got closer, but I ignored him and kept walking.
He tried again. "Get away or..."
Here I cut him off. "Or what? You'll kill me? Ooooo, I'm scared!"
I stopped short right in front of him and caught his eyes with mine, they were startling up close, but I refused to be the first to look away.
