I bent over the guy that Maria let me see had just been cut down by Leon. According to her, his name was Skylar. I just shrugged and healed him. I wasn't quite finished when he regained consciousness and opened his eyes.
"Maria?" he asked and I shook my head.
"My name's Tessa, now lie still so I can heal you."
Skylar blinked up at me.
"Where's Maria?"
"It's a long story, but don't worry" I said, finishing up on his major wound and working on the more minor ones, some of which were older, "I'm sure she'll come out soon to see you."

I watched from inside as long as I could, then pulled myself out, surprising Skylar.
Tessa's only response was a whispered "About time", so I ignored her and knelt at Skylar's side, my wounds mostly healed even after my short time with Tessa in control.
"Where were you?" Skylar asked me, and I shook my head.
"I'll explain in a bit, you just rest."
Tessa straightened up, "If you don't need me anymore, I'm going too go lie down."
I nodded absently at her and helped Skylar stand.
"How are you feeling?" I asked him, then felt a furious blush rise in my face.
