After speaking with Spati and Ciel, I headed to my room. When I got there, I found Maria, who seemed a little crestfallen--not a good look for her if you ask me (which I know you didn't). Anyway, I saw her sitting on the bed, and walked over and sat next to her.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing" she said with a sigh, "I'm just an idiot."

I looked over at Tessa. Why did she even care what was wrong with me? It's not like she even liked me. I was just the annoying thorn in her side who always suppressed her when we were together. In fact, part of me wanted her to go away and leave me alone--after all, my business was very much my business.
"I think I'll take a walk" I said, getting up. "I've had enough of this moping around.
Tessa nodded. "Be careful."
I shrugged, then headed out the door, hoping to sort out what had happened between me and Skylar.
