"What?!" I whispered harshly at Chance.
He broke away from me and bowed. "You heard me," he said before taking his leave. I was left staring after him as the song ended and people were looking for new partners.
"Having fun?" Shunsuke asked, coming over to my side and grabbing my hand. A smile played on his lips as he looked down at me.
I decided to wait and tell him Chance after the party. "Yes, very," I nodded, my curls falling onto my shoulder.
"Am glad," he said, brushing my hair off of my bare shoulders absently.
"I never thought we were going to be together" Shunsuke said holding on to her hand and started leading me around the dance floor.
I smiled and rested my head on his chest. "Neither did I," I replied. "Because I was not impressed with you when we first met. In fact, I thought you were a little spaz." I laughed at the thought.
"What?" he asked, pretending to be hurt.
"I had to come save your butt in the Shtriga battle," I teased.
"Hey, who had to have their human counterpart come and save you from your own world?" Shunsuke asked with a smile.
"Fair enough," I nodded.
"Are you ever going to tell your family about it?" he asked suddenly, his voice dropping in level.
I hesitated. "I don't want them to ever find out, but I have a feeling sooner or later it is going to catch up to us."
"Wouldn't you rather tell them before that happens?" Shunsuke asked.
"Sure, but i don't want them to freak out about it," I shrugged. "At least, more so than is necessary. I'm scared enough the way it is."
"Hey," Shunsuke kissed me on the top of my head. "I'm not going to let anything bad happen to you."
I nodded, snuggling into his tender embrace. "I know."
