"Wake up, kayden. I don't know what else to do," Shunsuke told me, and I could see the light tears falling down his face and falling onto my arm. I ceased my struggling.
The tears only further strengthened the Light in me. Shunsuke was piercing through the darkness in my soul so quickly, I wasn't sure if I was ever going to be whole again.
I heard Satan chuckle; Shunsuke let me go, walking over to him. "Let kayden go,and take me instead, just let kayden go and bring Dia back."
The Light in me fought for control over the evil that dwelled inside of me. "No! Shunsuke!" I cried, but then stopping once I realized the darkness was slowly fading. Now, there was more goodness than darkness, but I could still feel the evil deep within.
Satan scowled. "It seems the brand I used was not nearly strong enough. I'll have to go with something a bit stronger." He got up and walked over to me, brushing by shunsuke.
"I said to release her. You can have me," Shunsuke said.
Satan turned on his heels, using his power and abilities to fling Shunsuke up against the wall. "Why on this sweet World would I trade her Kayden, who is a being so powerful that it rivals my own, for an insignificant human such as yourself? You have nothing to offer me. I'm not interested in your bargain." He began tightening his hand around Shunsuke's neck cutting off the air circulation.
I knew that soon Dia's spell would be broken.
I rushed to Satan's side, grabbing his arm. "No. Leave him alone. You said so yourself. He is nothing. You have me. Let's just leave him." I wanted to save Shunsuke, that much was clear. I loved him, and that would never change. I loved him so much that I'd rather be taken by Satan than to watch him die. Not again.
Satan released Shunsuke, who fell to the ground, his hand at his neck, coughing. "He is merely a thorn in our sides, a weakness you need to rid yourself of."
I stood there, unsure of what to say. I didn't want to say anything that would anger him and cause him to kill Shunsuke.
Using his powers, he pushed Shunsuke up against the wall with his unique mind abilities. With his hands, he roughly pushed me up against the wall, kissing me on the lips with a fiery passion that rivaled that of Shunsuke and I's. I could sense and feel the need, the want, the desire Satan held for me. I turned my head away and made eye contact with Shunsuke.
His eyes were clouded in pain and unease. He couldn't bare to watch us no more than I could bare to have Satan assault me. Satan was touching me in places I has let no man touch me before, places I had wanted only Shunsuke to touch me. Resigning myself, I knew I couldn't do anything to fight against him. Satan was too powerful for me.
Satan pulled away finally. "I think if you become mine, I will allow your little human to go free, alive." he bargained with me.
I nodded. "As long as he is able to go back to his world safe and sound, and you promise no demon is allowed to cause him harm, I will go with you," I agreed. Anything to save Shunsuke. I had put him through enough. Putting him back in his own world where he could coexist with his own kind, where he could make a life for himself, would do him good.
"No, Kayden!" he gasped, his voice sore from being nearly choked to death.
I looked him in the eyes. "I can't allow you to be killed for my sake."
"But, if you go with him, then you will die," he said, a lone tear falling down his right cheek.
I reached out and wiped the tear away. "This was my responsibility to begin with. I cannot allow anyone else to die on my behalf." I shook my head.
"A kiss, then, to seal the deal," Satan responded with his cruel smile.
Maybe, I could use my own gifts, now strengthened by the brand on my neck, to subdue Satan long enough to release myself from the deal and get us out of here in one piece. It was a long shot, but I was willing to try.
