"Kayden! Don't," Shunsuke said, his voice saddened and panicked. He had no idea what he was going to do if I went through with Satan's plan. The thought of losing me was enough to motivate him.
I smiled at this, the bond between us burning with strength, love, and hope ever more. This would only make what I wanted to do all the more easy. I leaned in and kissed him. Shunsuke reached out and put his hands on my hips as though he was never going to let me go.
The kiss was tantalizing and long. Within the kiss, I could feel how much Shunsuke would do to keep me safe from harm. He was pouring out all of his feelings for me into the kiss, and I put forth all of my feelings as well. This caused a light to shine forth between the two of us.
It took me a moment before I realized it was our very souls embracing together. We were going to be together forever more, and it was as though our souls knew it now too. Smiling, I opened my eyes and turned entrapping Satan in a bubble that would continue to close and cut off all access to the outside world.
I couldn't kill him. No, I was no match for the source of all evil, but I could cut him off from using any of his powers. "I would have expected nothing less from you, my dear," his eyes narrowed. "But, you made a deal."
"But, I didn't kiss you, which is how you bind all contracts. I kissed Shunsuke, thus creating a contract between the two of us that we would never be apart from one another. Beings Shunsuke was not part of your deal, ours is now null and void," I smirked, not liking how happy I felt at his suffering. IT would seem that there was still a part of the darkness left in my heart. I wondered how long it would take to get it out.
His eyes flashed with anger, "You dare oppose me?" He flicked his hand at me, expecting me to be flown against the wall. When I didn't move, a brief glimmer of fear struck his eyes before he composed himself. "You're stronger than I would have given you credit for, that's for sure."
"You will not be able to get out of my barrier. I have the Strength from the brand you gave me and the strength between Shunsuke and I can never be broken. You will be stuck in there for all eternity or if you release me from working under you for saving my family, I will let you go, and we can continue on our merry way."
"I don't think you have what it takes to keep me here," Satan said, folding his arms across his chest.
I narrowed my eyes at him, making the bubble ever smaller. "I can suffocate you where you stand. I can easily kill you. I know how much you enjoy having your power over the demons here. I will not rob you of that as long as you let us leave, free from my contract."
"How do I know you aren't bluffing? How do I know you won't try to kill me?" Satan asked with a bit of amusement in his voice.
"I can keep up the barrier forever, but you'll just have to trust me that I won't kill you, though it will bring me such pleasure to do so," I smirked down at him.
Satan glared at the two of us and whistled. A demon entered the room, and Satan gave the order to solidify the contract we had between us. The demon nodded, a single parchment appearing in the palm of his hands. The demon was looking at us with a smirk. He didn't know we were calling the shots here.
"Burn it," Satan told him without looking at the demon. The demon hesitated, casting a wary glance at his master. He was beginning to doubt Satan's actions were of his own accord. "Did you not hear me?" Satan snapped. "Burn the parchment."
The demon nodded, doing what he asked. Shunsuke looked at Satan, "How do we know the contract is devoid? How do we know you aren't keeping a copy or something of the contract?"
Satan chuckled softly. "When I make a contract, I don't need back-ups. Only myself or that demon can conjure the contracts to become solid for you to see. If that's not enough, the brand on your neck is now just scar tissue."
Pulling my hair back from my neck, I felt the smooth scar tissue on my neck. I would forever have to look at the mess I had made, but it was a small price to pay for gaining my freedom back.
I nodded at Satan. "I will release the bubble when I am safely out of the castle. I hope to never see you again." I said and turned to Shunsuke, ready to get the hell out of here.
