Chapter 89

It was good to see Hideki again; he was a good friend to Shunsuke and to me, who he had only known for a short while. He seemed chipper that usual today. "Oh, guess who is with Yuki now!" He said smirking at Shunsuke.

Shunsuke shrugged, as if he didn't know whom he was dating. He was feigning ignorance.

Hideki grinned from ear to ear, pointing to his chest, "This Guy!"

"That's great!" Shunsuke said, He said, hanging on Hideki's shoulders playfully. They were as close as brothers, I noted.

When they were finished screwing around, I gave Hideki a hug and kissed his forehead in traditional Hollow greetings. "Congrats on scoring the girl," I told him. We all fell into step, walking to school together.

"So, mind explaining what took you so long in the Shadow World?" he asked. "You guys were gone for weeks. Everyone's been really worried about you. Especially you, shunsuke. You didn't look so good when you came to school last week."

Shunsuke and I exchanged glances. "There was just a lot of drama that went down," I said, waving my hand in the air as though to dismiss it all.

"Whoa, whoa!" Hideki stopped, shoving Shunsuke aside to grab my hand. I frowned, curious as to what he was doing. "What is this?" he asked, looking at the ring around my finger. His eyes shot up, between Shunsuke and myself, staring at us in disbelief.

"We're engaged," I shrugged. I didn't see what he was making a big deal over. We were eighteen for goodness sake. We were adults, living together already.

"And you didn't tell me?" Hideki said, slightly annoyed.

Shunsuke placed a hand on his shoulder, "It happened a few days ago, and we just got back. You're the first one here to know about it."

Hideki broke out into a smile, smacking Shunsuke on the back. "Well, good for you two. You guys were practically meant to be together anyway." I smiled, glad he thought so too. "So, how did you purpose?"

At lunch, I was practically mobbed by all the girls, each one wanting to see the ring and asking us a million questions at once. I couldn't keep up to answer them all, and I was beginning to want to use my powers to create a barrier against them all, but Shunsuke gave me a knowing look, telling me I couldn't do it.

I sighed, yanking my hand back from a girl who was oohing about it. Shunsuke had said this would all die down after a few days once they all got used to the idea. It was something new and a little unheard of, so they were all too curious for their own good. And I thought my family was bad. These girls put them to shame. Though, the boys weren't much better; they just weren't as loud about it.

Even some of the teachers gave us curious looks. How word passed quickly here. I smiled though, knowing I was going to love every minute of being Shunsuke's wife.

Graduation couldn't come quickly enough.
