Chapter 44

Hyaku stopped and pushed me away from him, thinking he was going to be able to walk on his own. HE ended up tripping over his own legs. I shook my head at the sight, making a mental note never to let him drink this much sake ever again.

"You can't even walk, Hyaku," I told him, walking over to him.

He suddenly sat up and quickly stood up, catching his balance before he fell over again. He walked towards me, cornering me so that I wouldn't be able to move. "Did I ever mention how hot you are?"

I could only stand there, but I looked away. I never had been good at accepting compliments. USually they were given to me by men wanting to get in my pants. Suddenly, Hyaku leaned in and kissed me.

The taste and smell of sake was overwhelming, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to go back to his bedroom with him. I couldn't deny that I wanted to be with Hyaku, and it didn't help that his kisses and advances left my brain a little cloudy and more than a little messed up.

My hands were running through his hair, down his back and up again. I wanted to touch every last inch of him. And, by the way he was grabbing and touching me, he wanted me just as badly. I sighed into him, cherishing the moment we were in.

I felt him slow down. Concerned, I pulled away and looked into his eyes. "Hyaku?" I asked, but he was unresponsive. His eyes were fluttering closed. He was falling asleep. Alcohol did a number on people, that was for sure. "Come on," I said, throwing his arm over my shoulder as I began the long trek to his room, where I'd throw him on the bed and wait for him to sober up.

I briefly wondered if Hana and Koori were hooking up. Koori clearly had the hots for Hana, and from the little they had talked early in the night, Hana liked him as well. I smiled at the thought of them being together. They were a rather cute couple.

My mind wondered off to the Moon Spirit and Koori's comment earlier and how Hana had said Hyaku was the moon spirit. It was a little much to think about, but after everything I had seen and heard while staying here, I couldn't really doubt it. Nothing surprised me anymore.

Finally arriving at Hyaku's room, I opened and closed the sliding door after getting through it. I managed to get him to the bed, where he rolled onto it effortlessly. I helped him under the covers, and just as I was about to leave, he grabbed my wrist and yanked me back onto the bed.

"Hyaku!" I cried out in surprise as I had lost my balance, falling right beside him.

"Mmmm," he moaned as he circled his hand around my waist and snuggled up next to me before falling asleep, half on top of me. I tried to get out of his grip, but he was too strong for me.

Sighing in defeat, I just accepted the fact that I would sleeping the night in Hyaku's room. In his bed. Right next to him. Touching him. I needed to keep my hormones in check. Mentally slapping my cheeks and moved so that I was comfortable and laid my head so that it was resting on his, which was resting on top of my chest. I could get used to this, I thought.
