"Kiana was it?" came Lin's voice from behind me.
I turned and looked at him. There was a look on his face that made me rather nervous, but I couldn't place why. "Yeah, something wrong?" I asked.
He shook his head, "I think my sister want to apologize for her earlier behavior." I frowned. Rin didn't seem like the type of girl to apologize, especially about a guy she was head over heels in love with. "Just follow me girl," he said.
Turning, he led me to Rin's room. He opend the door, and stepped aside so that I could enter the room. I felt uneasy as I took a step in, as a feeling of dread washed over my entire being.
There, in the middle of Rin's room, stood Rin in a heated kiss with Hyaku. My breath caught in my throat, and I found my heart had skipped a beat. Rin finally pulled away from Hyaku, who just stood there, probably too cowardly to meet my confused gaze.
"Sorry, hun, but you just lost the game. Humans and demons don't go together." She smirked at me. IT was as if she had planned all of this. "Right lin?" She said as she looked over to her brother
I was too caught up with staring at Hyaku, hoping he'd say something to put my fears to rest. But, he just stood there, as if ashamed that he had been caught in the act. Was everything they had done together a lie? Had he really chosen Rin over me?
I didn't notice Lin pulling out a dagger. I caught him lounging at me from the corner of my eye, dagger in hand. I had a small knife in the waistband of my yukata, and I was able to bounce the blow off of my knife, but he caught me on the shoulder.
I groaned in pain as I scrambled backwards away from him. He stood up tall, looming over my hunched form. "Hyaku," I called out to him. He should be protecting me. "Help me, Hyaku."
Rin laughed maniacally. "He doesn't care for you like he does for me," she caressed his cheek with a sadistic smirk on her face. She was taunting me; I could see that.
But, what couldn't be explained was why Hyaku was with her. What had suddenly changed that he no longer desired to be with me? Was it something I had done to upset him?
