Everything had happened so quickly, it was all a blur in my head. I decided I needed to quit thinking about it and just be thankful Hyaku was back to his usual self. I sighed in relief as I let Hana put a warm rag over my wound on my shoulder.
We were in the bathing room, which would make cleaning out the wound a little easier. Koori and Hyaku had already been attended to and were now in one of the chambers questioning Lin.
I didn't know what to make of Lin. He had seemed like a nice guy, but he just couldn't go against his sister. Sighing, I wondered what it was like to have siblings like that. I missed my baby sister dearly, more so each day.
I winced as Hana was putting some medicinal ointment onto the wound, so it would heal more quickly. "The pain will subside," she told me matter-of-factly.
I nodded, having no doubt of this. "How are you feeling?" I asked her.
She looked up into my eyes for a moment. "I feel uneasy. Rin won't give up so easily. Once she has her mind set on something, she doesn't let it go. She's had her eyes on Lord Hyaku for quite some time now. I fear for your safety as much as for Lord Hyaku's."
"What's the history between those two?" I asked her, genuinely curious. I wasn't jealous or anything because I understood what it was like to have mistakes in your past.
"I do believe Lord Hyaku should tell you the story, as it is not mine to tell," Hana replied standing up after having finished coating the wound with the ailment.
I nodded in understanding. Right, I needed to ask the source if I wanted information. "Thanks, Hana. You should go get some rest. We've all had a long day," I told her.
She nodded, but we both knew none of us would be getting a decent night sleep. Not tonight anyway. Moving into the bathing tub, I finished cleaning myself before making my way to Hyaku's room. I wanted to feel him in my arms again. I wanted to be reassured that he'd never leave me for Rin. I just wanted him.
I opened the door to an empty room. Sighing, I decided that I'd wait for him. It was dark now, so he couldn't be gone for much longer, and I didn't want to go looking for him in the chambers. Getting information from Lin would be their thing, not mine.
Sitting on the bed, I hummed to myself while I waited.
