Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.

Still feeling a void here, but peace about everything at the same time. The funeral on the 26th went very well. My father-in-law did the service and did a wonderful job. I bet my Mom's having an incredible time in Heaven ^_^
Well, on to a lighter topic. I went with the family on Saturday to see Avatar in Imax 3D. One word: AMAZING. Definitely one of the best movies I've ever seen. The effects, the story, the characters - all just brilliant. If you haven't seen it yet, I recommend it! It hasn't passed the Lord of the Rings for my favorite movie, but I think it took 2nd place.
Also, I got Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days back on my birthday. Random fact of the day - my husband and I were born on the same day, just 12 hours apart. Pretty cool, huh? ^_^ Anyway, I love it! I'm not quite done yet, but it's been a blast to play. It's making me want to replay KH I & II very badly. I got Fire Emblem:Shadow Dragon for Christmas, so that's next in line.
We've been getting tons of snow here. It started Friday night and just keeps coming. Gotta love lake effect ^_^;
I hope you all had a great holiday season!
Merry Christmas!
Things have been so crazy around here it's hard to believe it's Christmas Eve already! We'll be going up to my grandparents' house tonight, and my other grandparents' house tomorrow. It's going to be so strange not having my Mom there. Still, I'm very much so looking forward to spending time with the family.
What are your plans for Christmas? Hope it's a great one!
I'll leave you with a funny video, and a picture I drew forever ago ^_^
Thanks for visiting!
Missing her so much...
Well, these last few weeks have been the toughest in my life. My Mom passed away yesterday after a year-long battle with cancer. About two weeks ago she went downhill really fast and became completely unresponsive for about 4 days. Then, miraculously, she rallied and woke up again. We were able to spend a few wonderful days talking and spending time with her. Then Saturday night she started going downhill again, and yesterday morning we could tell it wouldn't be long. She passed yesterday afternoon at 3:00, at the young age of 49.
Obviously this is quite a difficult time for me and my family, but we're making it through. It is amazing how many people have been praying for us and supporting us. The most encouraging thing is that my Mom is in heaven now and she isn't suffering any more. The cancer caused her so much pain. I am so thankful for all the wonderful memories I have of her, and I am so excited to see her again someday.
The visiting hours are tomorrow, and then the funeral will be on Saturday, the day after Christmas. We're in for a challenging and emotional week, but we'll get through on God's strength.
"The ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away."
Isaiah 51:11
Trials
Hello again! Wow, it's hard to believe that tomorrow is Thanksgiving already. Is it just me, or has time been going really fast?
Well, I haven't mentioned this on here yet, but it's time that I do. My Mom was diagnosed with cancer last January, and her condition has been worsening since then. None of the treatments have worked, and things are really bad right now. I know God may yet miraculously heal her, but I don't know if that's His will or not. He knows what's best, but "what's best" isn't always easy. I would really appreciate your prayers for my family right now.
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow!
Wedding Update
Just wanted to stop in and say that the wedding a couple weeks ago went great! It rained a little bit, but held off when it needed to, and all in all it was beautiful day. Thanks so much to our well-wishers!
We went to Shenandoah National Park for our honeymoon, which was a gorgeous place. Here are some pictures!
This is Big Meadows, right near where we stayed.
Sunset at an overlook. The park runs along the Blue Ridge Mountains, so there are lots of great views.
We stopped at Luray Caverns, which was incredible. Believe it or not, this a reflection pool.
Thanks for stopping by!
