Charades with Aaralyn:
Lightening flashed all around, thunder roared overhead, and the lights in the mansions flickered: off, on, and then off again, and off they stayed.
“What happened to the power?”
“Ow! Why is there a chair there?”
“I can’t see!”
“Oh God, they’re gonna eat me!”
“Shut up, Sam!”
The chaos ended once Akira found and lit some candles, and the entire club felt their way into the living room. “There’s nothing to do now but wait,” Akira said, and the thumb-twiddling commenced.
“Why don’t we play a game?” suggested Karin.
“Yeah, like what?” someone snapped.
“Why not Charades?” someone else suggested. Though there were a few discontented mutters, Aaralyn made her way to the middle of the group and, making sure she stood in the best-lit area, and then pretended to open a book.
“A book!” everyone chorused, some admittedly more enthusiastically than others. She held up two fingers.
“Two words!” Then, suddenly her face morphed into a perfect likeness of Daniel Radcliffe, except with a lightening scar.
Everyone screamed, and then Ash yelled out, “Harry Potter!” Aaralyn nodded, and went back to her seat, shifting her face into her own again as everyone watched, astounded.
Finally, Dante found his voice. “No, please don’t sit. That was incredible!” The club members chorused their agreement. Aaralyn studied the eager faces of the club members, and her serious face dissolved into a delighted smile as she made her way back up to the front.
“Can you turn into Sebby?” someone asked. She nodded, and the club watched in fascination as her features became Sebastian’s.
“What about Griffin?” someone else asked, and again she turned into a perfect likeness of the Wyvern, right down to his gorgeous nose, but somehow, it didn’t look like him. The club looked back and forth between Aaralyn and Griffin, trying to determine what was off.
“Try looking grumpy!” someone called out. Aaralyn scowled, and the club dissolved into laughter. She had nailed it.
Club members kept calling out different people for Aaralyn to become, becoming more loud and boisterous with each impression she did. They were so absorbed in their activity that they barely noticed when the lights came back on.
(Yay, club bonding! Oh, and I wasn't sure how Aaralyn's shape-shifting works. I know she has to touch different species, but I think she can change into other people without having to touch them. However, I didn't know if the members of the MCC counted as people or different species.)
