Ahh sorry this post is broken up so much. There's still one part left to post, but I don't know when/if I'll get around to it. Bli-chan might do it when she comes back, but I'm not sure... Sorry! And ah it's kind of short.... for me... sorry about that too... DO I apologize too much? D: hehehee well, hope you enjoy this really short post! It isn't my best, I'll say that now. Once we had emerged from the clear waters, Dante and I dried off as much as we could, both of us grinning like les hommes fous. After I decided skinny jeans were not a good idea seeing as my legs were still damp, I threw the dress on and wore it as it had been intended to be worn. Needless to say, I was très inconfortable, but the stunned look on Dante’s face was worth the trouble.
Once I finished wringing out my hair, I returned to the car, lounging on the hood and absorbing the rays.
“That was beaucoup de plaisir,” I laughed, glancing at him out of the corner of my eye. He still had yet to put his shirt on, and, though I’d never admit it, he was terriblement distrayant.
“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself,” he chuckled, resting his elbows on the roof of the automobile. “But we still have things to do!”
“There’s more?” I queried, pushing off of the door. Smirking, he nodded. “And I thought it couldn’t get any better!”
“Well, I hope it only gets better from here on out. I have a few more things planned. Come on; hop in!” Without hesitation, I slid into the seat, buckling my seatbelt and smiling at him.
“Where are we going?”
“You hate surprises, don’t you?” he countered, starting the ignition. “You’ll just have to wait and see.”
Huffing dramatically, I pouted, laughing as I did so. I felt so... normal. So carefree.
Not a worry in the world
Letting loose and having fun
I’d have never expected this
Could he be... ‘the one?’
Oh, God, how much cheesier could my poetry get?
My mind was so distracted that, until he stopped the car, I hadn’t realized where we were. Granted, I wasn’t particularly familiar with the Virginian landscape, but I hadn’t even realized our surroundings.
“Oh my,” I breathed, unhooking my seatbelt and pushing open the door, rising to my feet outside of the car.
Despite the chill in the air, the lush plants surrounding the vehicle were full of life and thriving, their colors vibrant and their scents aromatic. As I inhaled deeply, memories of the years I’d spent at the flower shop drifted through my mind, pleasant memories, for once.
Petals of the past
Floating in the Autumn breeze
Bringing mementoes of long ago
To quell my fears with ease
“I take it you like this place?” Dante queried from behind me, his footsteps drawing nearer. Spinning around, I bounded toward him, wrapping my arms around his waist in a brief hug.
“I love it. The garden at the mansion is moins qu'adéquate,” I laughed, releasing him and tugging him toward the flowers.
Adonises, tulips, carnations, snapdragons, and more of all colors. They were all so beautiful.
“These are my favorite,” I pointed, caressing the soft flesh of a white rose.
“Is that why you have one right there?” he questioned, his breath tickling the back of my neck as he stroked my tattoo. Involuntarily, I shivered, but, somehow, I managed to nod.
Swallowing, I continued to lead him through the flora, pointing out the various types and admiring their beauty as I did so. To my genuine surprise, he didn’t protest at all. In fact, he seemed... interested in what I had to say.
“Thank you,” I murmured once we returned to the car. “That was... really sweet.” He smiled.
“We still have one more place to go, so don’t thank me yet.”
Laughing, I leaned back into the seat, peering at him out of the corner of my eye, a grin on my lips.
After everything that had already happened, I couldn’t imagine the day possibly getting any better. Naturally, I wasn’t prepared to be proven wrong.
A kind-hearted gesture
