I was pissed. No, not pissed. Livid. Well, I had to get that way, right? First, I was nervous with Nodin’s father. He creeped me out beyond belief and after I told him my story and he didn’t tell me his, I gave up. I wasn’t going to deal with this man. I was tired, I was hungry, and I wanted to go home and see Karin.

So once I convinced him of what was going on, he had to talk to Nodin before even replying to me. It seemed like (from what a conversation could be from Nodin) that Nodin did want to go, even after being woken up by his father. Nodin’s father told me bits and pieces of why he had a program just like what was in my hand but nothing further did he tell me. He was only going by what Nodin said, and I think that fact that he knew Akira somehow.

After Nodin got packed very carefully, Nodin’s father got us a private plane so that Nodin wouldn’t kill everybody on a regular commercial airplane since “planes were sick ridden with people”, in his opinion. So, once the plane was ready, all three of us boarded it, Nodin staying the back of the plane as I sat down in one of the seats FAR away from Nodin’s father, even though I had a suspicious feeling that he would sit beside me soon enough.

As we took off, I realized that this was my last flight for a while hopefully. Even though I was the errand boy, it was quite fun going to all of these different places, but I was pissed at Akira. I could’ve traded off with her or something. Yes, she did get the few that were in America, but still. I was pissed beyond belief.

But all of that seemed to drift away as the plane came to a stand still and glided softly through the clouds. It was so quiet and warm in the plane that it wasn’t too hard to fall asleep.

.:Dream:.

“Hey, big bro, you wanna know what’s cool about tonight?” I looked down upon my little brother, Christopher, who looked about the age of eight when he actually consisted about nine years old. It had been a year since we were both bitten and nothing had changed about us, except I was originally eighteen.

“What’s that?” I asked with a smile as we walked down the French streets, right near where what seemed to be a tower being built. I think I heard of it being called, ‘The Eiffel Tower.”

“It’s actually quiet tonight instead of busy,” He laughed and I narrowed my eyes. Both of our eyes consisted of a pierce black color, seeming how we only drank blood from humans, though I had been trying to change to animals so that I wouldn’t kill the person I was drinking from. It was vile, anyways, some of the tastes. I made sure never to drink from those who ran a bakery shop or a butcher shop, because they always tasted of fat and sugar. It was utterly disgusting.

“Quiet? I find it quite loud,” I laughed and he laughed along with me. We had been having a good day so far. It was raining so we didn’t have to worry about people staring at our eyes like usual. Usually, somebody thought that we actually dyed it black, which was impossible, because it would make a person lose their eyesight.

Not far off, I saw a bakery and a few people going in and out of it, getting tonight’s bread for supper. It didn’t smell too fresh to me, the bread from here I mean, but I could smell cake in there and it smelled delicious.

“Hey, wanna get a cake, Chris? I have enough Francs for tonight,” I told my little brother and he smiled enthusiastically. He had never lost the true delicacy for sweets after he was turned into a vampire like me. He loved them even more now, actually.

“Sure! We will feast tonight!” We both laughed at that because we normally said that before we drank blood so it made it quite odd but humourous at the same time, really.

As we headed over to the bakery, Chris seemed to have something on his mind.

“What’s wrong?” I asked him and he looked at me.

“What would’ve happened if Mom and Dad didn’t reject us and accept us for what we are? Would we be the same people?” He was quite philosophical for his age, but I understood his pain.

“I don’t know, Chris. I really don’t,” I sighed and Chris took my hand suddenly, wanting a bit of comfort in the matter. I would protect Chris with my life. He needed family, and he had lost it at such a young age. I was his brother. I couldn’t let that go away.

“What would happen if we could fly one day, Seb? Do you think it would be amazing, traveling with the birds, touching the clouds?” He asked suddenly and I smiled.

“Yes, I think it would be,” I told him with a smile as we entered the bakery.

With the idea in mind, we talked about flying for the rest of the night as we ate in the alleyways, sharing pieces of cake together.

If only time had lasted longer.

I blinked open my eyes at a nudge on my shoulder and turned my head. At first, I thought it was Chris but then I realized that it was actually Nodin’s father. He was staring at me, actually. I frowned.

“I thought vampires didn’t sleep,” He pointed out and I rolled my eyes and decided to look away from him and out the window instead.

“Just a myth,” I muttered as I looked out the window but my attitude changed when the flight attendant came strolling down, asking if we wanted something to drink but I wasn’t really hearing her voice. I was hearing her heart beat, the aorta moving blood constantly throughout the body. The sound of it all made my lips water, but Nodin’s father dismissed her as soon as he noticed. His heartbeat was more boring than anything else really.

“Haven’t fed in a while?” He asked and I shook my head slightly.

“Not since I first started on this long trip around the world,” I told him and he just nodded. He didn’t say anything against the matter. He left it at that as I looked out at the clouds.

After about an hour more because I had been sleeping for about four, we started to make our descent into Virginia and honestly, I could’ve ran the whole way to Karin if I didn’t have these two, no offense to them.

I wanted to see Karin so much and give her the presents that I got here from all over the world. It made me wonder how she was doing, what she was doing, and what friends she had made. I was practically bouncing towards the car and with that, after Nodin and his father got in, I sped off immediately.

Karin, here I come.

The rest of the day was quite interesting, really. Akira threw me a party once we got to the mansion and everybody practically attacked me. I think all of them knew me better than they knew Akira, honestly. After that, I spent the whole afternoon with Karin, everybody wanting me to sit in front of them on the second floor as I gave her her presents.

They all sat in a big bag as most the girls squealed as Karin brought out one of them, which was a gigantic bunny. She squealed and almost popped the head off as she squeezed it. I made sure to avoid looking at everybody’s necks though as she took out the presents thereafter. There were thirteen in all.

The others was a sweater from Germany that was pink and had a saying in German that meant ‘Pink Bunny’, a charm bracelet that I made in England that consisted of different languages that meant ‘I Love You’, a blue lace dress, three glass figurines that were from Russia, small clapping cymbals from Spain that dancers use in performances, a bouquet of wooden flowers, and about four more stuffed animals that she loved.

“Where’s the last one?” Karin asked me and I got up and sat beside her and drew the last one out of my pocket. I handed it to Karin and she gasped once she opened it. It was a diamond bunny. On the back of the diamond bunny, it said ‘Promise’ on it.

“This is absolutely beautiful!” Karin squealed and looked at the promise on the back of it. “What’s the ‘Promise’ mean?” She asked and I smiled.

“It’s like a promise ring, except its a promise bunny instead,” I smiled and she blushed furiously. “No, I’m not proposing to you, it just means that I promise to never leave your side again, Karin,” I smiled and that’s when small tears came to her eyes and all the other girls around us exclaimed in an “aww” fashion. I was surprised when Karin kissed me afterwards though, because I hadn’t felt her lips in ages, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. After I put Karin’s necklace on her, we got called down for the feast.

It was almost too enjoyable for tonight’s feast. I drank a little too much, calmed down, had a talk with Akira, and almost got close to getting away with my hunger, but it was obvious now, since I was shaking involuntarily. I disregarded it and paid only attention to Karin. She was my joy tonight, besides being home.

It was almost too fast of time before I collapsed on Karin’s and mine’s bed (yes, we share a bed) out of exhaustion and she giggled. She quickly got into the bathroom to change into her bunny pajamas but I didn’t bother getting out of my clothes. I was too tired to really care. Once she came out of the bathroom in her pajamas, she hopped onto the bed and hugged me.

“I’m so glad you’re back,” Karin murmured and I turned to her in the bed and noticed there were slight tears in her eyes.

“Karin...” I sighed as I took her into my arms and she cried slightly. She said something in the middle of it but I couldn’t understand her at all. I don’t understand how women think that we can understand them while they’re crying, honestly.

“What was that?” I asked her and she sniffed before she answered me.

“I missed you a lot... and I had more nightmares while you were gone,” Karin murmured and I softened.

“Karin, why didn’t you call me?” I asked her and she hiccuped slightly.

“Akira didn’t buy international coverage for the phones...” Karin told me and I laughed slightly.

“It’s okay... Let’s just go to bed, okay?” I asked her and she nodded as she slipped into bed and I grabbed my pajamas from my suitcase. I got up slightly from the bed as she started to fall asleep and quickly got into my pajamas, which was just sweat pants and a white tank top for me.

I slipped into bed and Karin cuddled up to me as she drew sleepy and fell asleep. I smiled but that’s when I almost wanted to push her away because I could hear her heartbeat slow down and the blood move into her brain to go unconscious. Her blood... I bit down hard into my cheek as my fangs started to grow. No. I wouldn’t do this to the girl I love. I wouldn’t kill her for the sake of blood. I would wait.

I waited until my cheek burst with blood on the inside of it and calmed down once I tasted my own blood. It wouldn’t do anything though to my thirst. It was just to get the hunger to calm down.

I wrapped my arms around Karin and started to fall asleep as I listened to her heartbeat and fell asleep.

I flew all over the world within a month, Chris... I hope you can do the same.
