Party Like It's The End Of The World

FINALLY! Dante is alive...and kicking! Merlin, I feel so bad for neglecting to post for him. To be honest, I lost all connection with him. Until now, that is. While it first felt forced, Dante and I have reconciled and well...*insert evil laugh here*. So, here is some Dantacia fluff for everyone! I miss this. Enjoy. .....

Dante

Another plane ride. Another new country. Another adventure. Couldn’t we just stay in one place for more than a month? I had finally got used to the idea of living in the mansion. Life, it seemed, had finally calmed down. There was no attacks, no drama and no fights. There was one thing, however, that was holding me back from paradise.

The nightmares.

I’ve always experienced nightmares but...there was something different about the ones I was getting recently. It felt real...too real to be a figment of my imagination. They were too vivid and too detailed...almost like they were memories. But they couldn't be...could they? I hoped they weren’t. Especially since they were all of torture and blood. In most of them, I was in an enclosed room with no windows and a single door that was kept locked at all times. Men in white, bloodstained coats would come into the room and inject something into my blood. The second one always hurt more than the first one. I would reach for Acacia’s hand but I found nothing. Instead, I heard her screams from far away and the sounds broke my heart into tiny pieces.

I would wake up with tears in my eyes and pain radiating throughout my body. Just like I had woken up not two minutes ago. I was still in the damned airplane and it was still dark outside. Too dark for comfort. A soft, warm hand grasped mine.

“Dante? Êtes-vous bien?” A feminine voice asked from beside me. I didn’t even have to look over to know who it was. I would know that voice anywhere. Acacia. Squeezing her hand gently, I tried to smile.

“I’m fine.” I told her trying to push enough confidence into my voice. She, like the observant and stubborn woman she was, knew I was lying.

“You cannot fool me,” Was all she said. It was all she had to say. I knew that tone of voice; it was one she used she wasn’t going down without a fight. A couple minutes of silence went by, almost agonizingly slow, before I had the courage to speak up.

“My nightmares...they’re getting worse.” I whispered to her, hoping none of the other members could hear me. Most of them were asleep anyway but there were a few awake. Acacia gave me a look of sympathy and clutched my hand a little tighter.

Je suis désolée, Dante.” She said, leaning over the kiss my cheek. We never really had moments of affection, mostly because of my nerves but when one of those moments ever arrived, I savoured them. She was my girlfriend, my Acacia.

My Acacia. I quite liked the sound of that.

Grazie, la mia bella,” I spoke the words into her ear, causing a slight shiver to run through her. Chuckling softly in response, I rested my head on her shoulder, hoping that maybe I could get some sleep on that god forsaken plane without a nightmare.

I had no such luck.

Clubbing.

That was where almost everyone in the club was headed; to an up-beat, body to body club. And Acacia had insisted we go as well.

“Why are we here, again?” I asked her as we sat at the bar. Having to shout over the music, I couldn’t be sure she even heard me.

Before we even got there, we had all stopped at the hotel. It was grand, I would admit that. In fact, somehow, it reminded me of home back in Italy; the chandelier that hung on the ceiling, the gold paint that shimmered on the walls, the tile floors that made every sound echo the room. I was suddenly feeling homesick.

Acacia and I went our separate way to get ready and unpack for the week. It was in the hallway that I bumped into the dra---wyvern Griffin, who didn’t have a foul expression like usual.

“Sorry,” I muttered to him, trying to walk my way past him and to my room.

“Dante,” He said, stopping me in my tracks before I could go any further. “H-How are you?” He stumbled over his words, probably because we had ever actually had a conversation before. Well, one that didn’t consist of yelling, insulting and fighting. I only hoped this one wouldn’t end in blood.

“Spectacular.” The sarcasm was dripping off of my words. However, Griffin didn’t seem to hear it; either that or he just chose to ignore it. He nodded quickly.

“That is good. Anyway, I wanted to...express my deepest apologies.”

“For what?”

“For...well...I believe we got off on the wrong foot. May we start over?” He held out his hand to me, like a peace offering. I looked up at him, curiosity getting the best of me.

“Why? Why now?” I questioned, looking him dead in the eyes.

“I guess...Akira must have gotten to me. Stubborn, that woman is.”

“I guess she and Acacia have more in common than I thought.” We both shared a small chuckle and I reached forward taking his hand in mine.

“Sure. Starting over.” I smiled half-way, still wondering what brought the peace offering on but I didn’t question it further. Griffin nodded sharply and walked past me.

After I had gotten to my room and unpacked, I realized i had no idea what to wear to a club. Desperate matters called for desperate measure. So, I snuffed out Colette. I found her in her room, looking between her clothes in search of something to wear as well. I knocked on the door softly.

“Colette? I need your assistance.” I said, a faint blush dusting my cheeks. The vampire girl turned to me, a smile gracing her lips.

“Dante! What can I do for you?”

“I need...dressing assistance. I’ve never been to a club,”

“Oh, dear! I’d be delighted to! What style do you require?”

“I don’t know. But I’m your male dress up doll for however long you need.” I swear, if that girl smiled any wider, she would have broken her face.

About twenty outfits and an hour later, I was sitting next to Acacia at the bar, the loud music drowning out her reply.

“What?” I shouted, leaning closer to her. She had taken her pill, turning her green skin into a pale peach, and she was wearing a short, black dress made of some type of clingy material. Her short, pearl hair was down and brushed against her shoulder and she wore black high heels.

Why did she have to be so f*cking tempting?

J'ai dit, I wanted to see this...clubbing experience.” She replied, her voice just barely reaching me over the loud, German music. I looked to the bartender, ordering myself a cocktail and some water for Acacia .

Pardon, could I have what he is having?” She quipped, causing me to look at her in disbelief.

“I thought...”

“I wanted to try this...alcool.”

“Are you sure? It’s rather...bitter.” She waved me off as our drinks came out. I held my glass up to hers.

“Well...cheers.”

À la votre.” Touching our glasses together, we each took a large sip. While the familiar burn of the alcohol still caused me to grimace, I welcomed the feeling. Acacia, however, looked utterly disgusted.

Comment buvez-vous ceci ? Il est terrible.” She commented, looking down at her glass. A loud chuckle found its way through my lips.
“It is an acquired taste. The second sip is normally better.” I replied, taking another gulp. In just two drinks, my whole order was gone. Damn. I looked to the man and ordered another one. Acacia did too, as soon as she finished hers.

Vous avez raison.” She told me, causing a smile to reach my lips.

“Told you so,”

A Couple Drinks Later (More like eight later)

☥☨☩☦✝☥☨☩☦✝☥☨☩☦✝☥☨☩☦✝

I was already on my ninth drink while Acacia was on her second. Or what is her third? Eh, whatever. She was was only a little wobbly while I, I was perfectly fine. Yup, totally not drunk.

“You’re such a liegh--ley--lightweight,” I slurred, erupting in a fit of giggles afterwards. She somehow managed to remove herself from the seat and pull on my arm.

“Let’s dance,” She said, practically dragging me over to the crowd. Everything was slow and just a little blurry. Was it always like that? Maybe it was but what did I care? I was having fun!

Walking into the middle of the crowd, she put my hands on her waist and started to dance. I danced along with her, if moving my hips and feet awkwardly was considered dancing. I was always terrible at it, unless it was a waltz or a tango. This movement was too different for me but I still moved, letting the music guide me.

“Did it huwt, Aka--Aksh--Akaysheuh?” I asked her as she wrapped her arms around my neck. She looked puzzled. Why did she look so cute? And fuzzy?

“Did what hurt?”

“When you fell frwom heahven.” She giggled, a sound that only made me more intoxicated.

“You’re drunk, Dante.”

“I’m nawt drunk how dare wou i’m tah soberest man in tah woom.” I slurred together, getting another giggle from Acacia in response.

“Sure you’re not.” Before I had time to respond, she was ripped away from my arms. Another girl came into my view, grabbing my hands and putting them on her waist. I recognized her I just couldn’t remember her name. Sarene? Sonja? Samantha? Sarahjessicaparker?

“Solana?” I asked, more to see if that was her name than anything. The girl giggled but didn’t have time to say anything more.

Vous petite putain, qu'est-ce que vous pensez que vous faites?” Acacia snapped, pushing Solana away. Why were girls fighting over me? There was plenty to go around!

“Wha did wou sah?” I asked, placing a messy kiss on her cheek. I couldn’t see her roll her eyes but I knew she did. It was Acacia, after all.

“Come on, Dante. Time to get you to the hotel.” She said, dragging me reluctantly from my spot on the dancefloor.

“Bah I wuz havn fawn.” I whined. She was following the girl Solana outside, as did most of the group. The cold, brisk air made me shiver and I wished I had more to drink.

Back at the hotel, Acacia had helped me to my room where I promptly fell onto the bed, bringing her with me.

“Dante!” She chided though she made no move to get up. “You need to sleep this off.” I shook my head defiantly.

“No. Wou will leaf meh.”

“No, I won’t.”

“Wiar.” Acacia couldn’t take it anymore and began to erupt in a fit of laughter.

“What?” I whined, worried she was laughing at me. Wait, why was she so beautiful? Oh, duh. She always was. Managing to sit up, I wrapped my arms around her waist and brought her back to me.

“You’re just so...mignon when you’re drunk.” She said, still laughing. I smiled crookedly and rolled over, causing her to fall on top of me.

“And you’re beautiful.” Was the alcohol wearing off already? Damn, that was fun. Maybe I was just experiencing a single moment of sobriety. Please kick in again soon, please kick in again soon. Averting my gaze she sat up and with the position she was in, she ended up straddling me. If she could blush, I was pretty sure she would have. In my single moment of clarity I realized two things.

One, I wanted her. More than anything.

Two, I was falling in love with her. And fast.

Even though my mind was still foggy, I managed to clear it enough for a single command. Leaning against my elbows, I wrapped a hand around her neck and brought her down to me. She gasp and before she had time to respond, I kissed her; hot as the sun and as sweet as chocolate. She kissed me back with just as much passion, a single act that made me shiver with anticipation. Why did I want her so bad Why was I letting myself show it?

Tilting her head, he deepened the kiss, her fingers finding the buttons of my shirt. With shaky hands, she unbuttoned it, pushing the fabric aside. Her cold fingers trailed up my torso sending another shiver throughout my body. I managed to pulled away from her lips and looked her directly in the eyes.

“Acacia,” I said, my clarity slowly fading away. “I’m...’m still drunk. W-We shouldn’t...can’t...” To shut me up, she kissed me again. Pulling away, she uttered three words that broke my clarity...and my resolve.

“I don’t care.”

I lost myself then; in her. She was everywhere and I couldn't get enough of her. I knew I shouldn’t have done what I did but it just happened.

The next morning I woke up with a pounding headache...and a guilty conscience.

What had I done?
