Artisan crafts: Dreamcatchers

Hey there,

I would love to share my dreamcatchers! I made my very first dream catcher two years ago, with willow branches intertwined as the circle and wool as the rope in the middle. Last christmas I made another one. Until no I have finished making about 6 dreamcatchers. I usually give them away as a birthday present or thank you. You can make very big ones or very small ones from iron rings from bracelets. The latter I have used as a small thank you (eg when some people gave me feathers).

Here are the two that I have photos from:

What they're made of:
- metal ring (bracelets, old lamp shades)
- or ring from willow branches
- wool or any other kind of rope
- beads
----> old jewelry --> use beads
----> branches with hole inside (eg. the bush: Buddleja davidii) --> use a metal saw --> beads
----> paper beads --> tutorial how to make paper beads
- feathers (up till now I've always used real feathers. I've found them on the 'ground'/nature and once I bought item containing chicken feathers)

Here is a photo of my materials I collected over time:

It takes me around 6 hours to make a big one/ 20+ cm, if not more. Depends on the pattern - if I use a lot of colors and how much effort I put into finding the right beads and feathers. I hope you enjoyed and if you have any questions, let me know!
